NJ Destroying Phoenix

Postby Abctest123 on Tue Mar 28, 2006 12:10 pm

It is currently midway through the third quarter, New Jersey is leading Phoenix by 40 points  , phoenix with ONLY 39 points, and New Jersey has 79. Steve Nash has not made a single field goal either

EDIT: Phoenix finishes the third quarter with only 45 points total

drunkmofo123, please rename this thread to: "Official: Nets' push to the Finals thread." I can see the revolution coming. Holding detroit to season lows in pts. who are the best offensive team again? Who cares, the Nets shut both the Mavs and the Suns offense down.

Our defnse has been sufficating lately.
Whoever said VC can't play D should be shot!!!!!

wow impressed by the nets, with this win streak .... a strong push.. if they keep playin something like this the last 10+ games, i wouldn't rate their chances any lower than pistons/heat.. IF and ONLY IF they do very well the last 10+ games..

Nice blowout but it means nothing. I would still pick Phoenix over NJ if by some miracle both meet in the Finals.

Again, nice win. (y)

Maybe the fact that they are on an eight game winning streak, which includes blowouts against Dallas and Phoenix, and a win against Detroit does mean something?

Still doesnt mean much to me since they can turn around and lose the next 5. There are always going to be winning streaks in this league, look at the Lakers who had a solid run sometime in the early part of the season where some people started saying they might win 50 games yet they are barely above .500. I try not to get too excited about these things. With NJ. its good for team morale but doesnt represent any shift in power from my point of view.

I'm totally baffled as to how strong frontcourt teams like Detroit and Phoenix can lose to New Jersey... this should not even be a contest.

i'm not quite sure is the luck with the nets or is the bad luck is with their opponent, or may be jus great defense effort, or may be jus cold nites for the opponent. the win over the suns and detroit are focus on missing balls from the opponent. detroit didnt shoot well and billups missing 3pts. the suns obviously don hav much balls going into the rim.

he said blowouts vs dallas and phoenix, with a win vs detroit, not a blowout

as for NJ, they still arent really true contenders in the east despite these wins. they just arent good enough to beat miami or detroit...

2 games in a row where jason kidd absolutely smothered the opposing teams PG on defense.

chauncey went 2-9 or something last night, and nash went for 0-5.

looks like he's making the all-nba defensive team again. :)

Nash gave huge credit to Jason's defense, so that has a factor to do with the Nets' win. I still wouldn't get excited. They're on a 9 game winning streak now, but just recently, the Suns were on a 10+ game winning streak, so I don't really expect the Nets to ride this hot streak 'all the way to the Finals.' Despite the strong backcourt, their frontcourt will be exploited, especially come playoff time.
