If you could choose..

Sun Mar 19, 2006 10:10 pm

Any player to build a franchise/team around, who would you pick?

My first choices would either be Amare, LeBron or Wade.

Thoughts?

Sun Mar 19, 2006 10:12 pm

we've had something similar to this before.

I'd choose Drew Gooden, Zach Randolph, Andrei Kirilenko, Jamison Brewer and Josh Childress

Sun Mar 19, 2006 10:26 pm

I would chose wade and chris paul.

Sun Mar 19, 2006 10:56 pm

probably LeBron, or Nash

Mon Mar 20, 2006 12:01 am

Dwight Howard.

Mon Mar 20, 2006 12:08 am

I choose Steve Nash, since Yinka Dare is no longer alive. :(

Mon Mar 20, 2006 12:49 am

Lebron.

That answer is not biast (I think there is a t in biast :| ).

Mon Mar 20, 2006 12:57 am

Biased?

Mon Mar 20, 2006 1:02 am

Amare, Dwight or if KG was still young. Big men would definitely prove to be a lot better to build around since they're so few left in the NBA that can actually play that position effectively.

Mon Mar 20, 2006 1:34 am

In my extreme Iguodala Biased opinion, I would choose him. But in all other cases, Dwight Howard (Y).

Mon Mar 20, 2006 1:55 am

LeBron James.

Mon Mar 20, 2006 2:01 am

I would choose Yao. And by the way, I would never choose Nash. He's too old.

Mon Mar 20, 2006 2:26 am

Dwight Howard. Watching him kiss the rim in practice all day... Haha

Mon Mar 20, 2006 2:41 am

Kevin Garnett.

Same as Nash, too old.

He isn't too old, he's only 29 years old. He's still in his prime and he is still the best basketball player in the league. How many years do you plan on building a team for? I don't know about you, but it's easier to build around Kevin Garnett in 1-3 years than it is to build around Dwight Howard in 4-5.

Mon Mar 20, 2006 2:46 am

He'll be very in Chicago once he get's traded there this summer.

Here is the only scenario where Garnett will get traded:

Kevin McHale and Kevin Garnett have a birthday party for KG. They are drinking and drinking all freaking night! They are totally wasted! They get back to Target Center and lit some candles. McHale starts making a move on Garnett and KG freaks out! "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!?!" Garnett starts screaming and calling McHale a pervert and he is taking things too fast. Garnett then says "If you want to touch me then you'll have to trade me!" So McHale walks over to the phones, calls up Chicago and says "I'll trade you KG" and then BAM! KG is gone after one long night of drinking and sexual advances.

Mon Mar 20, 2006 4:33 am

I'll take Melo or Dwight Howard.

Mon Mar 20, 2006 4:37 am

Obviously Bron.
Other choices would be Yao, Wade, Bosh, and Howard.

Mon Mar 20, 2006 5:45 am

i would take Howard

Mon Mar 20, 2006 1:45 pm

artest 8-)

Reason why I wouldnt choose KG is because they are trying to build around KG and they have provided some nice players in the past and the present and the furthest hes gone is the 2nd round (or 1st) of the playoffs, in like 6-8 years.

Reason why I choose LeBron. They had pretty much no one (consistently) else on the team and he has taken them from 17-65 (or somethin similiar) to almost playoffs since coming. Now they have some guys around him (one of whom is injured) and they have the 3rd best record in the east.

Name some good players put around KG.

Stephon Marbury? Left too early.
Terrell Brandon? Got injuried when they were starting to click.
Wally Szczerbiak? Got injuried and isn't really a #2 option on a contending team.
Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell? Got to the Western Conference Finals (3rd round, tool) until Cassell got injuried.

And then you go on to say you'd build around Lebron who has yet to even make the playoffs despite being in the Eastern Conference and having one of the best centers in the league. Go figure.

Kobeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Ok let me hear it...
