Hornets are choking their way out of the playoffs

Sun Mar 12, 2006 4:58 am

I doubt they will keep their 8th seed much longer now. They've lsot 5 in a row and Houston, Utah and Sacramento are coming on strong. Kings are 31-31 and the Hornets are 31-30...

Who do you guys think will get the final playoff spot?

Sun Mar 12, 2006 5:05 am

Kings cause they got Artest

Kings or maybe Houston
But i hope the Hornets are going to hold there playoff spot.

Kings are gonna make it but then again, i'm bias. I don't think that it is because of Artest, I think it is because of Bibby. Bibby has been insane, in the last 10 games he has been like averaging 25 points and 6 assists and yesterday was the first game I saw Artest getting over 25 points.

I am not saying that Artest has been one of the key players that has helped us win, i'm just saying that Bibby has been contributing more. BTW, have you seen Kevin Martin? He has went from 2 PPG last season to 15 PPG this season.

Anyways, I was still hoping that Hornets would make it.

Me too. I was hoping the Kings could take the 8th seed from the Lakers.. but that is looking more unlikely... who knows, though... there's still time for that.

I'd say Sacramento will beat them. Artest is helping, more than people think, and Martin is proving that he was one of the steals in that draft. He'll be a nice starting material, if he isn't already.

Houston won't make it. Not without a healthy Mcgrady.

No way Hornets are gonna make the playoffs, their starting line up is OK, but they don't have a solid bench. I think Sac-town will make it at 8th.

Sacramento will sneak into that 8th spot as I feel Houston is gonna fall short cuz T-Mac is out. N.O. is just gonna fade I believe.

id like to see the hornets make it but i doubt they will

If t-mac didn't hurt his back again then Houston woulda made it

i bet you the playoffs this year are gonna have lots of upsets. i see the lakers, memphis, kings memphis finishing 6,7,8 respectively -- but from the way things are right now i can definitely see the lakers and kings upset the nuggets and spurs. it's no secret duncan hasn't been playing like himself lately, and as much as i like tony parker, i can't see him carrying the spurs to the finals -- i think their success in the post season relies heavily on how well he does.

i hope Hornets can make it, but it would be interesting to see a Kings v Spurs/Dallas 1st round matchup.

The whole Shareef/Playoffs back story makes the Kings' run quite interesting. I don't really believe in curses and superstition but the guy's had some bad luck when it comes to opportunities at the post season. If the Kings make it, the "curse" is broken and the record for most career games without a playoff appearance goes back to Popeye Jones. If not, 'Reef keeps his tongue-in-cheek but nevertheless unfortunate reputation as a jinx.

lol spurs and nuggets get upset.... that means a dallas and phx in the conference finals...
