Lol @ Pierce being a better team player. Well he isn't regarded completely as a selfish player, his shot selection was a concern a while ago and his overall passing ability isn't going to wow anyone. Plus you also have to remember that Pierce has never led his team very far into the playoffs throughout his career without the help of Antione Walker.

The same can be said about LeBron, but its only his third season, so we don't really know what he is capable of. Also, James has been known to be a very good passer and have exellent court vision which is why he was compared to Magic for a while.

Not to take away anything on to the shot that Pierce made though. It was absolutely ridiculous how he shot it over two players in his face.

What Pierce is a better team leader just cause he can pass well? LeBron is a much better passer than pierce. You say he's a better team leader? Does he average 30, 6, 7? No. Is he carrying his team enough to even make the playoffs? Boston will either not make the playoffs or will make it to the 8th spot. This year, Cleveland has Hughes whos injured, Marshall, and Jones. Marshall and Jones are good backup players but not the best. Cleveland has almost the same roster and will probably get the 3-4 spot in the east. Without LeBron, Cleveland would probably won't make the playoffs. In a couple of years, Cleveland might even make it to the finals! I don't think Pierce can carry his team to the finals, do you?

Just because LeBron is a better passer doesnt mean hes a better team leader. Pierce THINKS of his team first. LeBron has Jones, Z, Gooden and Marshall. Pierce has really turned West Jefferson and West and Pierce really helped Gomes who they are now.

Nice game tonight by Pierce huh??? 8 points in the last 45 seconds or so. He hit a 3, then another 3, then 2 free throws to get him to 31 points again. Thats 13 out of is last 14 w/ 30 or more and 8th straight. He also had 31 pts, 11 rebs and 10asts and 3 blocks. Hes getting better, and better and amazing!

Lebron i would say is/will be another level above Pierce, hes just more athletic, more talented... He doesn't have the mentality yet, he will never have kobe's mentality.. Lebron is more a team player, which may NOT be good, b/c he might lack that killer instinct.. Pierce had a great game, this is his best season, hes got MVP-like numbers, i wouldnt' say Cavs team is worst than Celtics.. Big Z is an all-star, Gooden is a double/double guy, they have solid shooters in Marshall/Jones and energy players, they have a make-up of a high seed playoff contender with hughes there

Celtics prob have a playoff bound team when healthy at best.. THey will however, when Big Al J, Perkins, Gomes, West develop and Wally is healhty, they can be a 5-6 seed (in 1-2 seasons) Thats only if Big Al turns out to be a 14/7 guy, with Perkins getting 10points and 10rebounds an da few blocks, with delonte doing sumthing like a 14/6/5 and Gomes going 15/8 every night

how is someone who averages 22.8 shots per game unselfish? He forces shots too....and he doesn't pass as much as his APG imply.....there's more to passing than racking up assists.

You see them play all the time from Massachusetts? Yeah watching TV is being a real fan. Even Brad Miller was averaging more assists then Pierce. Paul Pierce being a better team player then Bron? Please. How does LeBron have to do it the 'fancy' way, i dont see Bron trying to force behind the back passes and crossovers. Last time i checked, bron gets it done too.

I couldnt agree with you more, I was talking about the same thing in another thread the other day. Just because a guy gets 7/8/9 assists doesnt mean they were all quality assists and I find that Lebron's assists pile up cuz his teammates seem to jack up a shot everytime Lebron passes whether or not they have a defender in their mug.

Pierce hasn't successfully led his team to a playoff run, especially without Fatione. LeBron's in his third season and is playoff bound. Think about that. We don't know how well the Cavs will do in the playoffs, but with James being so young and getting into the playoffs this early in this stage in his career shows you something.

If assists determine how one plays within a system then you're saying Marbury is a great team player. A team player just does whatever he can to help the team win.

Even though the touch foul rule helps quite a bit, Pierce has finally gotten his swagger back. Hopefully the organization makes some smart moves in the offseason, and the team can start winning.
