You've probably heard of Robert Wadlow before, but did you know he actually played some basketball for fun?

Full video here. 3:40 in.

Yes, he was 8'11" 490, in real-life, but this is basketball, everybody gets an extra inch. =)

Thats a tall fuck . Holy shit , sad he died so young but wtf wow he was huge.

Wed Mar 08, 2006 12:21 pm

What the hell! I wish he would've kept living, I would've loved to see him play bball probably in the late 50's to early 60's

Wed Mar 08, 2006 12:52 pm

lol, the guy can probably just purposely miss and get a rebound to his stat sheet if he wanted.

Wed Mar 08, 2006 1:49 pm

That's amazing  great find EG.

Wed Mar 08, 2006 1:52 pm

Wed Mar 08, 2006 2:08 pm

Nice find. I'd heard of him but never knew he actually played basketball recreationally or otherwise.

Wed Mar 08, 2006 2:08 pm

me too, i always thought he would snap in half or something whilst getting the ball... :?

Wed Mar 08, 2006 7:19 pm

If im not mistaken they mentioned his shoe size to be 37 AA  I wonder whats Shaq's shoe size...

Wed Mar 08, 2006 7:21 pm

I never thought Yao could be dwarfed.

Wed Mar 08, 2006 10:34 pm

WOW!! THAT IS JUST FREAKY...

Wed Mar 08, 2006 10:43 pm

Dont call him freaky, he'll sue you

Wed Mar 08, 2006 10:46 pm

imagine trying to block that guy....he would have been a beast when there was no lane violations....

Wed Mar 08, 2006 10:46 pm

He was one huge guy.
The gentle giant

Wed Mar 08, 2006 11:37 pm

good find...damn hes tall...totally dwarfs YAO MING and Xi Shun (the tallest man alive)

Thu Mar 09, 2006 12:54 am

Don't really feel like downloading the video yet but even in that pic he looks enormous...

Thu Mar 09, 2006 1:06 am

It was funny to see him playing basketball. All these little guys just tried to block it, and he held it for about five seconds before taking a shot two inches below the rim.

Fri Mar 10, 2006 12:04 am

In the picture, all the players around look headless...

Fri Mar 10, 2006 12:32 am

Thats freaking nuts. A shame that people who are that tall aren't expected to live very long.

Fri Mar 10, 2006 1:35 am

That's an interesting video. If this guy was born in our generation you know he would have been making a living playing basketball, #1 pick at 18 years old, assuming they thought he was going to live for a while. Pretty sad how he died so early.

Fri Mar 10, 2006 7:03 am

He didn't even dunk the ball

If he wasn't so gentle, he'd also be the world's greatest bully known to man. I wonder if he ever had a sexual encounter with anyone under six feet.

Fri Mar 10, 2006 7:10 am

Damn, that's one ugly MFer. Too bad he wasn't born twenty years ago. His condition would be treated properly AND he would get 54m/6y contract from the Knicks.
