LAKERS WIN 105-94!
DETROIT IS DENIED A CHANCE TO TIE THE '96 BULLS!
Sun Mar 05, 2006 4:06 pm
rotfl....
too bad for the pistons
Sun Mar 05, 2006 4:09 pm
Why is everybody so excited about it? It's not like the Pistons themselves really wanted to match the Bulls record anyway, the only thing they care about is winning a championship
Sun Mar 05, 2006 4:15 pm
well no one really expected the Lakers to win today!
Sun Mar 05, 2006 4:19 pm
The thing is that Kobe is really managing to almost alone drag his whole team to the playoffs. At first I was sceptict about Kobe's performance, but when he is playing like this and the Lakers beat one of the best teams in the last 5 or 6 years, that is really something special. You have to respect such a player.

WORD.
I knew they aint gon get 72.
All I want is them to beat the Spurs if they meet up in the finals.
Sun Mar 05, 2006 4:41 pm
Umm... what are you talking about? It's not hard to go on an 11 game winning streak, then lose, then another 11 game winning streak to finish the season 70-12... Oh, my bad, forgot that they got 72-10... yeah... go Lakers!

this road trip has been killer. Someone bench Prince please for longer stretches, he's just been a step behind lately. There's just been 3 shitty second halves for us. I like it how rasheed is playing though.
Pistons have also been pounded on the boards, totally owned.

True. Pistons finished with 30 rebounds as a team! And Big Ben having 5 rebounds is unheard of...

So how was the long trip for you then?

Every loss the Pistons get soothes me in some sort of way

the optomistic view though, is that Detroit is a better rebounding team than SAS, Dallas & Miami.
Sun Mar 05, 2006 6:50 pm
too bad

they are still the best in the NBA though
Sun Mar 05, 2006 7:31 pm
this was the final game for us in a huge stretch
7 games in 10 days, and you can really tell from the last 3 games we are feeling it
no one is rebounding except ben wallace, and i dont think we have won a game where we have been outrebounded by 4 boards or more...
prince is in a huge offensive slump atm, he would benefit more offensively being with our 2nd unit, so he is the 1st or 2nd option rather than 4th, he just isnt fitting in with the system as well as he should be.
flip saunders wrote:"This is our seventh game in seven different cities in 10 days," Saunders said. "This has been a rough stretch and I think the common thing that has happened to us the last three games is that our shooting percentage in the second half is going down, which is usually a sign of dead legs."

Not only that, Kob--I mean the Lakers shot the ball at a great 50%, plus shooting 88.5% at the charity stripe, which is also unheard of. No missed shots = No rebounds. Still, the Detroit Pistons didn't play with any tenacity or defence.

lmfao unlucky, that's about 0.01% revenge anyway
Mon Mar 06, 2006 4:45 am
I doubted from the beginning they'll get 72-10 season.
Mon Mar 06, 2006 5:45 am
MJ and the Bulls of 1996 are untouchabled!!!
Mon Mar 06, 2006 11:58 am
The record enters year number ten.

Interesting to see if the Pistons can still finish with 70 wins though.
Mon Mar 06, 2006 12:02 pm
I think they'll finish 68-14!
Mon Mar 06, 2006 12:15 pm
I say the pistons end up 61-21
