Hiring Staff

"Today, we want to announce our new team staff, for the next years.
We Wanted to satisfy Larry´s wishes of an assitant coach, and hired the 52year old L. Gillis, a well known defensive specialized coach. His contract will run for the next 2 years, his salary is at 1.26 a year. It might seem kinda expensive, but we always had the money, but this year we can´t spend it for Free Agents due the salary space Mr. Thomas left us here.
As an Trainer Mr. Gillis brings his colleague B. Reeves with him, who will work for us the next 3 years, for 270K a year. The Scout position goes to an old mate of mine, R. Sorrell, for the next 2 years and 399K salary. I think these are good choices in order to help us reachin our goals. Thanks for your attention.

Since the next game is in 20 days, theres still some time to train players and scout. I won´t post anything about scouting at the momen, cuz I plan to get the real next year rookies into my game

Tomorrow the New York Knicks will have their first match of the season, just against the all time rival and neighbour, the New Jersey Nets.
"We want to start this season with a win, definetly, there is no reason for us to hide", Stephon Marbury told the press at today´s conference. And New York might have good chances with their new backcourt and their improved defense. New Jersey has suffered a tough loss vs the Raptor just 5 days ago, and wants to shake things up. "We really need a win now, to get the confidence. We know we can play, but Toronto showed us some of our problems.., Nets Captain Jason Kidd said, while Vince Carter, who scored team high vs the Raptors means: "We have the advantage that we have played one game so far, we should be more into it". This will be an intresting match.

Key Matchup
ImageImage
ImageImage
The Backcourt-Battle seems to be the question of the game. Both have All-Star backcourts, but it´s always the same question, can Francis and Marbury win? But New York has the better bench players for sure, Nate and Jamaal. This game might be decided at the frontcourt, because both teams have deluxe backcourts. So the real Key-Matchup is Frye and Curry vs Krstic and Robinson.

[hova-´s] Knicks Dynasty SEASON OPENER VS NETS

Postby hova- on Mon Mar 06, 2006 12:43 am

Knicks fall short in Seasonopener vs Nets
Image

New Knicks Team struggles in the 4th and looses 98-103
Tonight´s Knicks game at Continental Airlines Arena was dominated by Turnovers and coordinationproblems.

Knicks started well hitting 3 in a row, Steve Francis seemed to be in the shape to control the offense. Nets´ Jason Kidd on the other side had his problems running the offense. Stephon Marbury and Jason Kidd scored 6 each in the 1st, but Jamal Crawford made the last bucket givinge the Knicks a 24-22 lead after the 1st.

The 2nd quarter wasn´t also the best of both teams. New Jersey´s McInnis scored all of his six points and Nate Robinson had 4 points and a dish, but Jason Collins tied the game at 46 with his 1st shot of the game.

"After the game we started to struggle, they made some big shots, and we couldn´t get the control of the boards.", Larry Brown told the press after this, thinking of the incredible 4point play by Vince Carter, hitting the trey with the foul by Jamal Crawford.
"that was definetly an act of Vincanity", Jason Kidd praised later.
"But I also want to emphasize what Cliff Robinson did for us today, he was amazing on the glass tonight", the Nets Captain said.

Stephon Marbury scored important points and Quentin Richardson stepped up making two form downtown, but the Knicks started to get nervous, producing not necessary turnovers, like when Frye stepped on the baseline late in the 3rd."These are mistakes he has to make, he played really good, and he has to learn out of those things"

The Nets led by 7 after this 3rd when Richard Jeffeerson stepped up. RJ scored 10 points in the last, including a monstrous dunk over Steve Francis.
"He always gives us the power the, momentum we need, I appreciate that", a happysounding Lawrence Frank said. Channing Frye and "Q" Richardson scored 7 each in the last but couldn´t stop the Nets.

The Player Of The Game Award went to Richard Jefferson scoring 20, 10 of them in the 4th, grabbing 5 boards a dishing out 4 assists.

Game Highpointman was Stephon Marbury with 22 points. Quentin Richardson had 14 points off the bench and Steve Francis dealt 6 assists.

Nets forward Cliff Robinson had incredible 8 Offensive Boards combining for 15 boards and 14 points. Vince Carter had 19 points, Jason Kidd 21, shooting 3-6 from beyond the arc.

The Nets had only 10 assists but benefited from the 24 Knicks Turnovers. Eddy Curry showed his improved defense with 3 steals and 3 blocks.

Jamaal Crawford and Channing Frye added 13 apiece Frye with 7 boards. Nets Jason Collins had 10 off the bench, most of them after his 4 offensive boards.

Next game will be in one week vs the L. A. Clippers.
We will definetly shake things up a bit .... trades... ? Don´t think so, but maybe .... I was more thinking about a new Starting Five since I´m not satisfied with it at the moment

So long, Hova-

[Hova´s] Knicks Dynasty - Season Opener vs Nets || Trade ?

Postby hova- on Mon Mar 06, 2006 8:54 am

Image
Channing Frye +1 Mid Range Shooting, Inside Scoring and Jumping

Image

"I´m not very contended with our Small Forward Situation at the moment", Larry Brown claimed after first game of the season. "Jalen didn´t play what he is able to, and doesnt show any signs of progress till now, next game we will start with Quentin at his position.
He still has to learn al lot of things defensively, but he has a lot of potential and I´m very pleased with his offense at the moment, thanks for your attention
"

Jalen Rose, who couldn´t score a point in the first game, has a big contract, 16 Mill. for 2 years. The Knicks don´t have any chance to give him away at the moment, but GM C. Hova is preparin something, maybe just waving him ... ?, nah don´t think so, this wouldnt allow him to reduce the salaries and wouldn´t give them anything. But something´s going on in N. Y.

Image
Does Jalen Rose have any future in New York ?

Well Im gonna post em tomorrow, but I also want to say that I adjusted Ratings for off boards and jump and block, so players that are very big dont have good jumping ratings so they dont get many boards. And only 5 players have off reb ratings over 70, cuz off boards are too frequent.....

But as I said I will post em tomorrow, becaus it´s very late here now... and I´m tired .. though I don´t need to go to school due too much snow tomorrow :P
