Who is the face of the NBA?

Postby KIG1 on Sat Mar 04, 2006 10:47 am

I was watchin PTI the other day and it was an interview with D-Wade. He said I hope one day that myself, Lebron, and Carmelo can become the face of the NBA some day. And that got me thinkin, who really is the face of the NBA. It could be Kobe, maybe KG, maybe Shaq, or Lebron. I would go with shaq though.

Thoughts?

It's probably already LeBron since he's on absolutely everything they advertise.

LeBron James... but Kobe is catching up. But I'm not sure if Kobe will ever be able to but the restoring of his image is amazing on both an ethical and a business level. I mean... a lot of people thought he wouldn't be this marketable again.

In the eyes of casual fans, its probably Lebron. But to me its Kobe, then Iverson, then Duncan, then Wade, then Lebron.

LeBron James. He's hyped everywhere.... But I think Wade's gained a bit of popularity as well.

I think it's Kobe. Even non-baskeball fans know who Kobe is, whereas LeBron is still up-and-coming and not as widely known.

Shaq is pretty old and isn't as exciting/dominate as he used to be. I think a guard or sf would better represent the NBA because of the lack of big men currently in the league.

Lebron, especially since he's who the league is pushing to be their poster boy

Kobe is there as well but minus the support of the league.

I love Kobe and all but the NBA is pushing Lebron so hard as the next big thing that I cannot say he isnt the dominating face in the league. I dont believe people care as much for Shaq as they used to, I know I am more interested in what Wade does when I watch a Heat game. Only them nostalgic ESPN guys really hype him much.

Shaq and Kobe TIED for first.

...unless you knew that and I sound stupid. :(

5. Shaq

LeBron and AI share Place 2... and this is for Germany, not for America

It's Shaq without a doubt. Everyone knows who he is, you dont have to watch the NBA to know. Even my parents know who he is , and they have never watched a basketball game.
