I guess you can't really judge Tim Floyd on his past NBA coaching experience, given the state of the Bulls during his time there. The Hornets are a ready made team, one that qualified as the 5th seed in the 2003 Playoffs. Floyd should be able to do a better job with them than he did with the Bulls; if not, perhaps he should stick to college hoops.

I dunno, I think Floyd isn't a good coach by what I remember watching some Bulls tapes with him coaching... (N)

i had heard tim floyd was supposed to be a defensive minded coach when he was at iowa state. i agree with andrew- given the cast of characters he was given in chicago, i'll give him a break. i don't think any other coach would have done much better.

but i do think coaches jumping from the college to the NBA are not highly successful.

as the article mentioned, i wonder how the players will respond to 'pink' considering they were supporters of silas and the fact that floyd doesn't really have nba coaching experience

It does seem to be the case these days...John Calipari and Tim Floyd being two recent examples. Perhaps it's the difference between handling 12 egos and handling 12 egos who are also getting paid a lot of money. Perhaps less experienced college coaches should spend some time as NBA assistants before they take head coaching positions.

If I were Baron Davis

I"d pack my bags and demand a trade. Bet they won't make the playoffs next year.

well we will just have to wait and see, like Andrew said ...

I think Paul didn't want to re-sign with the Hornets since the two parties didn't have a deal worked out the way he wanted it to be.
