Felton Injured In Car Accident

20th February, 2006 - 2:53 pm

ImageAP - Charlotte Bobcats guard Raymond Felton was slightly injured in a car accident and his status for an upcoming six-game road trip is unclear.

He was vacationing in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Sunday when his car was rear-ended while at a red light, the team said Monday. He sustained whiplash and complained of a sore back. The driver of the second car was charged with drunken driving, the Bobcats said in a statement.

The Myrtle Beach Police records department said accident reports for Sunday wouldn't be available until Tuesday. A department spokesman didn't immediately return a phone message from The Associated Press.

"My friends and I are blessed to escape this accident with only minor injuries, and thankfully I was wearing my seat belt," Felton said in a statement.

It's good to see he is alright and he was wearing his seat belt. Malik Sealy was killed by a drunk driver who was driving the wrong way on the highway. To this day I still wonder if Sealy's life could have been saved if he was wearing his seat belt.

It's a law for a reason, BUCKLE UP!

Riot, you cant put any blame on Malik Sealy for that. It was 100% the drunk drivers fault. I'll never forget that day.. it was announced during game 1 of the WCF in 2000.

RIP Malik.

I'm not in any way, shape or form blaming Malik Sealy for it. In fact, I wanted to kill that Asian or Hispanic dude who killed him. I don't excatly remember his name but I know it was long and he was foreign.

I have a framed authentic Malik Sealy jersey hanging on the wall in my bedroom. Malik Sealy was probably one of my favorite players of all time, he was a great guy and a great player. Kevin Garnett wears #21 because of Malik Sealy, Sealy was his idol. Which is kind of weird because Sealy died coming home from Garnett's birthday party.

Anyways, I was simply saying if Sealy could have buckled up maybe he would still be here. But it is still 100% that drunk drivers fault. There is no way around that.

It's good to see another Sealy fan. When he died, I ordered the game where he banked in that 3 to beat the pacers. I wanted to never forget that memory of him.. not hitting the shot, but the celebration, on the ground in sheer joy. I still have that game on tape.

I was at that game, it was the best game I have ever been to. Ever.
