Pro players got life good. I'm not hating on them, its just funny to me sometimes how I believe that they seem to forget how easy they got life.
I've never been a janitor but I don't think it is as demanding as being a professional basketball player, especially a big man.
But I agree that they have a good life, I'm not doubting that.
I'm pretty sure the janitors would love to even make $100,000 for what they are doing.

I'm sure they would, but that wasn't what we were talking about. Stop changing the topic. I said being a professional basketball player is a more phyiscally demanding job. You said it wasn't.

Really? When did I say that?
All I was trying to say is that there are many physically demanding jobs out there in this world and they are quite lucky to have what they got. If you want to make what I am saying into something its not then by all means go ahead. Knock yourself out.

What the fuck is this? Lebron gets criticised for wanting to represent his country? Talk about a generation of haters.
Whoever criticised James?
You consider Odom, Jefferson and Boozer role-players. You know what, that is exactly why USA lost, you're absolutely right. When All-Star caliber players like the above are reduced to role-playing, then the team can't possibly have any semblance of chemistry. By role players I meant specialized defenders, shooters, big bodies on defense, etc...
About the Garnett issue, I agree with Riot. Yes, he has life 'easy', he does the thing he loves and gets paid by the bundle to do it. By why should he feel compelled to represent his country in a basketball tournament, when he can spend a quality month with his family? I know I would not.

I said he is better than Kobe was in his 3rd season. Try Reading.

But you didn't say it correctly, fool.
he is clearly better than Kobe as in his 3rd season.
better than kobe as in his 3rd season.
It should be, He is clearly better in his 3rd season than Bryant was in his 3rd season.
Try proofreading.

I have no problem with making a group of superstars, as long as they're given time to gel. The last two US teams(one Olympic, one World Championship) were given very little time to gel together. As long as there's one shooter, this team could be unbeatable.
Mon Jan 16, 2006 9:22 am
As long as we don't get a repeat of 2004...
Mon Jan 16, 2006 10:41 am
^ Hilarious, is that offense or defense? Hard to tell w/ the olympic team.
As long as someone sends the olympic committee a memo that basketball has 2 parts, offense & defense, they should be fine. The last one had a momentary lapse and thought they were shooting a Nike commercial.
When other teams shoot 50%+ from the field and 57% from the 3 point line, that's a bad thing, even in the NBA.
Mon Jan 16, 2006 2:03 pm
so who's in? Lebron James and who else? who's the other superstar? I would like Kobe to be part of it too. As far as shooters, Michael Redd, Ray Allen (maybe depending upon if he's healthy), and others.
Mon Jan 16, 2006 2:45 pm
I would like Kobe to be part of it too.
If that happens, say bye-bye to any chance of forming an actual TEAM.
Mon Jan 16, 2006 2:54 pm
Kobe has already committed to the Olympics in 2008.

Uh-oh. And I really wanted the US team to do well in teh future. Well, I guess one cannot have everything. I'll settle with Greece being European Champions.
Mon Jan 16, 2006 3:30 pm
Kobe Bryant is 50 times the player any European or South American team will be able to throw at him. He'll do just fine.

at least his will of victory and success is much higher than any other player. He's clutch as hell and determined in winning at all cost.
Mon Jan 16, 2006 3:59 pm
And he'll give us an actual 3-pt threat.
Something that was sorely lacking in the last Olympics.
And I like the choice of Lebron. He didn't get much playing last time and he's improved his shooting/outside shooting a lot since then.
I think we should load the team with guys that can hit the outside shot with ease and players that do a lot of different things good.

If KG and Duncan have declined the offer to be part of the 2008 Olympic.... then I see the following team going:
C: Ben Wallace
PF: Amare Stoudemire
SF: Lebron James
SG: Kobe Bryant
PG: Steve Nash
Mon Jan 16, 2006 4:15 pm
yeh that mite be a possibility. whos the coach of this team, coach K? hopefully lebron sees more playing time. hopefully AI plays for us cuz he could help a lot. i heard of shaq maybe wanting to play for the US but that wont happen as long as kobe is on US.

Nash is canadian

steve nash isnt american. i know you're exagerrating, but techincally kobes is definetely not 50 times better than the best european player...... though he does take 50 times the shots.
Mon Jan 16, 2006 4:49 pm
Kobe Bryant is 50 times the player any European or South American team will be able to throw at him.
True. Problem is, he seems to think so as well every time he steps on a court. That's why the 'kobe scoring 50-team loses' combination is getting none the rarer.
Fact 1: He IS the best individual talent in the league.
Fact 2: He's an instinct-driven animal, on the court at least. That might work in the jungle, but not in anyplace where 'playbooks' are involved.
Fact 3: If Kobe is on Team USA, he will monopolise the offense. Even If God himself was playing Center, he wouldn't get many entry passes from Bryant. Any player monopolising the offense on the international scene=80% chance his team loses.

If you know I'm exaggerating then why bother making this post at all?

Sounds like the kind of thing people said about the original Dream Team.
Mon Jan 16, 2006 5:11 pm
Kobe dominates the ball in LA because he has to. There is no way in hell Kobe will do that in the US team: one, because he has competent teammates to pass the ball to and two, because he will get taken off the instant that he starts to "monopolise" the offense.
Mon Jan 16, 2006 5:34 pm
my opinion...
C. Jermaine O'Neal
PF. Amare (If hes healthy)
SF. Shawn Marion
SG. Lebron James
PG. ...?
and kobe and wade on the bench as long as u dont have kobe & bron on at the same time then i guess theyll be ok
