-Tractor Traylor for the rights to Dirk Nowitzki :shock:

-Vince Carter for Antawn Jamison

-Tracy McGrady for Francis, Mobley, Cato (as it turned out...)

The Carter trade right now looks attrocious, but Carter was absolutely putrid. He settled for 20 feet fadaway jumpers, most of his stats were at career lows, and most of all, he looked like he didn't want to play anymore. Although I don't agree that the time he was traded was perfect, but if you are a rookie general manager who inherited such a terrible situation like the Raptors were in, wouldn't you press the panic button? What if Carter's value stooped even lower that it already would have? I'm glad that we managed to at least get Joey Graham from the draft because he's something I'm looking forward to in the future.

On another note, I'd also like to add that Eric Williams has also been a great mentor to Charlie Villaneuva, which is something you can't tell by stats. Eric has been pushing Charlie almost everyday and he's constantly tutoring Villaneuva on how to play defence, so he's not completely worthless. Also his contract expires after next season when all of our other big contracts do.

Robert Parish and the No. 3 pick (which was McHale) to Boston
To Golden State: No.1 Pick (Joe Barry Carrol) and no. 13 pick (Rickey Brown)

Parish and Mchale teamed up with Bird to form one of the best frontlines in NBA history, they won 3 NBA Championships and reached 5 NBA Finals.

Carrol played 6 and a half seasons and Brown played 5.

I don't think player demanded trades should count, such as Shaq or Vince Carter or Baron Davis, since it was either that or lose them for absolutely nothing when their contract expires.

Scottie Pippen for Olden Polynice was a pretty bad.

It may not be the worst in history, but the Chris Webber trade doens't make any sense to me. CWebb isn't in his prime, but Kenny Thomas & Corliss? At least the Raps got 1st round draft picks for VC...

Baron Davis trade was bad...

Basically, New Orleans wanted to get rid of his whining, his fat contract and his injury proneness. They did it, and got spare parts in return. It's not that bad if you think of it. Then again, it's not that bad for us, either.

The Baron trade wasn't horrible, New Orleans traded him because he wasn't going to be part of the team in the future, its not like he was going to be a big part of their plans, and they were able to dump his contract. Not all trades are looking for equal value, sometimes you want to get expiring contracts or you are looking to dump a players salary.

Weaver, no offense, but your list is terrible. The Shaq trade was as best as they could do. They tried to get Nowitzki, but Dallas wouldn't do it, they tried to get Dwyane Wade, but Miami wouldn't do it. That's the best they could have done. You're right about Tractor for Dirk. What's your problem with Vince for Jamison? I'm not sure what team you're even saying got ripped off in that one. TMAC for Franchise, Mobley and Cato definitley wasn't GREAT for Orlando, but they didn't have much else of a choice. Plus, you're only saying that because of Steve's recent troubles, but is Houston really much better off right now?

Dr. J to the Sixers from the Nets for 3 Million dollars is the worst trade in NBA history. The Nets really fucked that up.

Bulls send Olden Polynice to the Sonics for Scottie Pippen.

The Chamberlain trade was terrible.

Bucks trade Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to Lakers for Elmore Smith, Junior Bridgeman, Brian Winters and Dave Meyers.

You mean the Baron Davis trade? I think they got better offers but wanted an offer for an expiring contract to save money, from what i remember. I think the reason they took nothing (essentially) was financial.

It's not that unusual, i thought the Raptors had much better offers for VC, including one from Portland including Darius Miles, but they wanted draft picks.

What can you do, it's a business.

Jamison's not the scorer Carter is, but he's still an All-Star. No way does that belong on a list of the "Worst Trades Ever."

T-Mac for two very good players and a big man isn far from one of the worst ever.

The Shaq trade was a bad trade, yeah, but not even close to being one of the worst ever.

It was a draft pick for a solid big man. Hardly a terrible trade.

Draft pick trades can't really be in the category of "Worst Trades Ever" because of the fact that no one knows what they're getting or trading.

If you use hindsight I think the Kobe trade has to be the worst... a serviceable C for a few years hardly compares with one of the best perimeter players of all time. Then again hindsight's a bitch.
