Kwame Brown or Michael Olowokandi

Wed Jan 04, 2006 4:34 am

which former #1 pick bust would you rather have?

Wed Jan 04, 2006 5:27 am

neither.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 5:58 am

Olowokandi shouldnt be in the same sentence as Brown. At least Kandi is a little bit effective periodically.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 6:23 am

Brown..a lot better..

Wed Jan 04, 2006 6:35 am

Kwame brown... at least he has a little more time to turn things around.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 8:27 am

kandi man can atleast block :D

Wed Jan 04, 2006 8:40 am

This is actually a pretty interesting comparison. At first I immidiatley went to click Kwame, but then I thought about it a little bit.

I'd rather have neither of them. They are both lazy basketball players who have the talent, but aren't willing to put in the work to become as good as they can. Not to mention the fact that they both have shitty attitudes.

I think I'd take Kandi, just barely. He's more effective on defense, and he scores the ball a little bit better. Plus he shoots a better field goal percentage. Both absolutely suck on the boards considering their size.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 9:03 am

possibly one of the hardest comparisons besides t-mac vs. kobe?

ps. i would not be suprised if this gets replies worthy to make this thread a hardwood classic

Wed Jan 04, 2006 9:08 am

Neither. I would rather have a sack of potatoes.

You aren't funny.

I'd take Kwame. Olowokandi's 30 and probably won't improve, whereas Brown still has a chance to become at least a half decent player.

If you're talking about drafting one of them during draft day and they were both avaiable, that be more of a challenge to choose.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 10:00 am

Well I would just pick someone else on the board, but if I absolutely had to, I would pick the Kandiman.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 10:30 am

I would pick Kwame. He has a better chance of reviving his career then the Kandi Man knowing that he is younger and could improve. He just needs to put in some effort.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 10:31 am

Kwame should retire.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 10:34 am

Kwame is the better player but I wouldn't want either one.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 12:12 pm

Kwame. Because Kwame is stronger. He may not be able to block you're shot but he can deny you position downlow. He's strong enough to not get pushed around by anyone in the league. He can outrebound anyone when motivated.(when will he ever be motivated though?)

Kwame, should grow some cojones, play like a man, and learn to dunk the fucking ball.

As a laker fan, i pull my hair in frustration everytime Kwame misses a wide open layup. Throw it down big man. DUNK THE FUCKEN BALL!

Olowokanid is my choice

olowokandi has at least given 2 productive years and has been a NBA starter. T'wolves only used their MLE to sign him and currently he's on the last year of that contract

brown more or less is still getting paid on his potential and 2 or 3 decent stretches. And his contract is worse then the Kandiman's.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 12:43 pm

Lakers paid him that much to make up for less years. His contract runs for only 2 years with a team option for the 3rd year. Basically, Mitch played safe, if this guy breaks out they take the 3rd year option, if he doesnt and someone is available, waive that option and a maximum FA. Either way, we have enough cap space to sign a maximum FA in 2007 or 2008.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 1:21 pm

I would choose Kwame, but barely because I don't really like either.

fact remains Kandiman has had more productive seasons

nothing is safe about spending 2yrs/~16 million on someone that's done nothing before he arrived in L.A and is really doing nothing now

Wed Jan 04, 2006 3:05 pm

what kind of player did people expect the kandiman to be? i know everyone expected kwame to be the next KG or JO.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 5:43 pm

Limp, Kwame's giving us what we lacked last season. A big body downlow that doesnt foul every 2 minutes.

With Kwame on the floor, believe it or not, our defense improves. Try watching a laker game and you'll see what im referring to.

ala tyson chandler?

Kandi has had more productive seasons with the fucken clips limp, it's sad when you're productive on a team that even mikki moore can be productive.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 7:08 pm

tyson chandler has shown flashes.
he works hard he just gets some unfortunate injuries at times, but he's shown that he's capable of being something good. i don't think his coaches have ever blasted him on his work ethic.

and we all know what some people think of kwame brown -- MJ called him a flaming faggot and dr. phil called him a pussy.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 7:39 pm

Chandler has always been good on the boards and he is long enough to deny shots.
I'd rather pick kwame though, but only if I took phil in as the head coach.

Wed Jan 04, 2006 7:57 pm

Kwame....if only because he was in Michael Jordans presence day to day,
