Basically, Mitch played safe, if this guy breaks out they take the 3rd year option, if he doesnt and someone is available, waive that option and a maximum FA. Either way, we have enough cap space to sign a maximum FA in 2007 or 2008.
nothing is safe about spending 2yrs/~16 million on someone that's done nothing before he arrived in L.A and is really doing nothing now
