Nobody, the game will turn into a hug and apology fest between Phil, Shaq and Kobe, and then the game will be called off. :)

End of 3rd, tied .

12 seconds to go, Lakers have the ball, down 92-95. Will it be Kobe-time?

EDIT: Missed...

Mon Dec 26, 2005 8:59 am

It won't: Miami win 97-92.

Mon Dec 26, 2005 9:00 am

92:97. Good game.

Mon Dec 26, 2005 9:01 am

LMAO @ Shaq response when questioned about shaking all the lakers hands expect for Kobe.
He just looked directly at the reporter with silence. Then to end it instead of answering "Merry Christmas to all" and that was it. haha

Mon Dec 26, 2005 9:08 am

Good game. Lots of missed calls though. Gary Payton doing what he does best at the end of the game. Not a very merry christmas for me but I'll get over it.

For a moment I thought the Heat might lose it with Wade in foul trouble so much. The glove really bailed them out.

Mon Dec 26, 2005 9:18 am

 f*ck!

Payton played pretty well. Also Williams helped out alot early in the game. Neither team played up to their standards but it was a very competitive game and thats what I like to see. Shaq rebounded the ball well and really minimized opportunities for the Lakers to get offensive rebounds. If the lakers work on any trade I would say they get another big body down there to hustle for those rebounds because other than Odom there really isnt any other good rebounder.

I would have liked the Lakers to win it, just to see Shaq's reaction. Sometimes Shaq's immature whining about Kobe can be irritating.

Mon Dec 26, 2005 9:32 am

I agree. Kinda childish sometimes but thats Shaq for ya.

I doubt you felt that way when he was making fun of the Kings as a Laker.

:D I kinda liked it when he was on the Lakers but its still childish.

Gary Payton was the player of the game today. He did really well in filling Wade's role, that three-pointer was huge, and he took Kobe out for practically the entire second half(might wanna re-visit that best perimeter defender's list).

Neither team played real well. The Lakers had their moments but pretty much fucked up on rebounding. The Heat's half-court offense relies way too much on isolation with Wade and Shaq. This was the first time I really noticed it. It's geting too predictable.

Gary didnt take Kobe out in the 2nd half. Even a cross-eyed person would be able to notice how tired Kobe was. Kobe was too tired chasing Wade. Im sure everyone noticed Kobe missing 2 foul shots, in those 2 FT's, Kobe would hold his shorts and get some air before taking the FT.

Kwame was very solid on Shaq tonight. He just needs to play like a man on the offensive end.

Mon Dec 26, 2005 3:08 pm

good last shot, Kobe. I expected him to jack up a horrible shot like that.

Wade barely even played during the third quarter, so it's not as if Bryant had a huge assignment then. And yes, Payton did take him out. He forced Bryant into really bad shots. The shots Kobe made were spectacular. Had he made some of the one's he missed, those would have been spectacular too. But maybe, just maybe, he was getting tired from Payton hounding him during those two quarters. Is it possible that there could be a player in this league who can keep Kobe Bryant from being dominant? *GASP* That's absurd!

Mon Dec 26, 2005 3:56 pm

Oh God lol GARY PAYTON THE HERO ALL BOW DOWN TO THE BASKETBALLING MESSIAH!

Mon Dec 26, 2005 3:59 pm

Not even my homerism is covering over the facts. If you watched the game, you saw: Gary Payton was the x-factor. He might be 37 years-old, but it sure didn't show.

Mon Dec 26, 2005 4:00 pm

wow.. gary had a great game today...

Yeah, let's forget about the other 3 quarters.

And yes, Payton did take him out. He forced Bryant into really bad shots.

I saw Kobe taking shots that he usually gets from opposing teams. The difference was he was too tired to make them in the 2nd half.

But maybe, just maybe, he was getting tired from Payton hounding him during those two quarters

Maybe. but it was more of Kobe chasing Wade and Kobe not having anyone on his team play half decent basketball.

Is it possible that there could be a player in this league who can keep Kobe Bryant from being dominant? *GASP* That's absurd!

Yes, his name is not Gary Payton though.

Alonzo Mourning was the X-Factor. We were in command till he came in. :(

Mon Dec 26, 2005 6:24 pm

Alonzo was the key..Limited minutes but had I think 3 blocks on that game..Did you saw the one Wade retaliate Kobe with an elbow???I think Kobe deserves a lot of that....What a game from GP he locked down Kobe in the 4th!!!!

Mon Dec 26, 2005 6:48 pm

I started watching the game with 5 minutes remaining from the second quarter. It was a great game! yes it was indeed! I was so excited! I'm glad the Lakers gave Miami a good fight. I have to say the Heats are pretty loaded with some great valuable players who can contribute - Gary Payton and Mourning just to mention a few had a great game. I heard the commentator saying Kobe has the lowest FG% in the fourth quarter compared to other players with the same or close amount of attempt in such quarter and I thought about it and it sounds right coz he put too much effort throughtout the game up to the 3rd quarter and then runs out of gas in the 4th... anyhow good game for Kobe. The funny thing was when Shaq went mute when he was asked about Kobe LOL. I guess when his career is over he'll go after Kobe and try his best to arrest him :D so much love between these two characters :)

Mon Dec 26, 2005 6:54 pm

Yesss and the trah talking of Gary and Lamar at the end of the game was good...

Mon Dec 26, 2005 7:02 pm

Gary Payton was the x-factor. Both coaches knew this was so. Pity Kobe missed another shot.. would have wanted Devean to take it though... Just a gut feeling he would sink it! lol
