Real life blackie  jesus :shake:

Fri Dec 09, 2005 2:51 am

I just drafted a 6'1'' SG named Andrew Hardaway with 96 3pt rating
He's only 65 OVR but he he's hitting every shot lol

Tue Dec 20, 2005 1:34 pm

i just drafted a 7'5 centre, whos blocking was 79, and inside scoring was 88!! i drafted him 25 overall, and his rating is 69 overall, he was supposed to be drafted top 20 i think... not bad for a weak draft class

Tue Dec 20, 2005 2:10 pm

yeah, in my drafts i look for a 6'4-6'7 SG...maybe develop some guy into a young kobe. hell, finding that kind of draft pick is rare, with all the 6'5 PF's, 6'1-6'3 SG...i don't think theres that many tweeners in real life who play SG but are a PG's size
and i dont really like thet many SF in the draft that can't dribble and actually are more like PF's

Tue Dec 20, 2005 2:25 pm

u guys get me really hyped lol. I'm getting a PS2 and NBALIVE06 for xmas. The only dynasty mode i've ever played is in madden 2002 for n64

Thu Dec 22, 2005 7:01 am

sometimes the rookie generating really sucks... it keep making undersized SGs and Charles Barkley sized PFs... gosh. btw they are wearing short shorts when in the dbf the short short rating is 0... anything to do about that?

and the worst part is their so called "Chinese" players' last names are in Cantonese instead of Madarin, eg. Choi, Kwong, Kwok and it gives Chinese players jap names and vice versa, like your Takashi Choi  ... so i have to edit the dbf every year to correct those strange name. some names are pretty cool though.

i paid a whole lot and got a player named K Fox, 6-8 SF, Excellent talent, not bad shooting, pretty good FTs, almost 70 for steals and almost 80 for blocks... cant wait to see him grow!

Thu Dec 22, 2005 7:20 am

I dont know why, but I'm not too fond of having rookies on my team, I just dont know why. When I just sim, I have 5 definite starter guys and then I just sign old guys that are retiring in a season or 2 to do backing-up/sitting on the IR.

The reason i dislike rookies is probably because of that save over-writing over Christopher cheaney (check above for post) :x :x :x :x

Thu Dec 22, 2005 11:41 pm

my best was a guy called antoine dutton he was predicted #2 but i got him #1 with the hawks. he was a 70 ovr. in my 2nd season which was his first i traded for duncan. duncan avg like 27/13 or soomethin crazy and i thought my rookie was gonna be shit but he avg 24/3/5. i won the title. but his potential mustve been shit because next season he went down to 68 and only avg like 16/3/3.

this was in 05 btw

When you're scouting players and it says their potential is average, good etc., is that accurate or just your scout's opinion?

I just hate that you can't see the players height/weight/potential in the draft. Was doing my first dynasty draft last night and accidentaly picked a 5'10" SG, lmao. Good thing was he had speed and was a good passer, so I was just going to plug him in at PG (had a 74 starting rating too with great shooting all around) but it was getting too late and I still had to sign free agents, coaches etc. so I just turned it off. I'll hit it again tonight and see if I can do better.

Fri Dec 23, 2005 8:49 am

What does that potential thing mean? There is Limited, Very limited, Excellent, None...

Fri Dec 23, 2005 9:04 am

lol... found a benjamen branch.
projected to be undrafted... from west coast....

lol. wtf.

if anyone doesnt see why this is funny, ask dragon

Damn, I love this thread and I love the generated players. It's so exciting. Sometimes the players look so stupid, e.g. a player with black skin and blond beard or something.

I still play Live 2003, don't have much time. I'm in the fifth year of my franchise. 4x9 minutes, All-Star, tweaked rosters. So I have to tweak the generated rookies each year because they would be way too good and would be much better than the real players. It's a bit of work but so what.

Ok, I have a 20-8 record and the rookies you then get are crap. Forget the second round. Forget the first round except the top 10. My best rookie had 80 as an overall rating and this is really good as he had 80 AFTER tweaking. Normally, the overall rating goes down ten or something after tweaking. A 75-player is then a 65 and so on. Most rookies are waived and then they disappear. Are just gone, are no longer in the free agent pool. But a few are good, e.g. Asong Edwards. Some rookies are in the starting five after tweaking. But the computer often makes strange players who have a high three-point-skill but a shooting range of 12 or something. Some are 7'0'' but cannot even rebound and have lower rebound ratings than PGs. Then there are these guards that can't even run, they are so slow. LOL Damn, I love generated rookies, it's fun. It's the highlight of every season when the rookies are created. A generated rookie called Boniface Daniels is really good. Has the highest FG rating in the league (yes, after tweaking). The best shooters have 68 or something, he has 72 after tweaking. He can reject shot, too.

But now here are my generated players. I never drafted a player as my record is too good and the rookies I'd get are crap. But I traded for two rookies. Indiana once drafted Brian Dixon. Sacramento drafted Isaac Ballard. I had to get them.

Here they are:

Brian Dixon: PG, 6' 1'', drafted as the 6th pick. He is fast, he is quick, he can shoot threes. He can dribble...so it is great to penetrate the zone, go past defenders...he usually finishes with a two-handed dunk. It is the only dunk he is able to do. I had so many problems with PGs. They had a low FG%...but Brian Dixon is great. He is my starter. Before him I had Charlie Ward, Howard Eisley, Juan Dixon, Mike Bibby...they all sucked and had a low FG%. But Brian Dixon is my man.

Isaac Ballard: C, 6'11'', 264 lbs, drafted as the 7th pick. He is slow, very slow. But he is stronger than Shaq, he can block, he can dunk, he can rebound, he is a monster! He has a skull tattoo. As a starter with enough minutes per game he averages 3 BPG with the tweaked ratings where the best blockers have a skill of 60-68.

Here is a picture, Ballard and Dixon:

03 player models all looked like Big Ben

Sat Dec 24, 2005 2:31 am

Just one problem, isn't that ballard guy wearing 33? Didn't they retire that for Ewing yet?

Sat Dec 24, 2005 3:28 am

Ballard is a generated player. I don't know if he had #33 when he was drafted but I think I gave him #33. A Knicks center must have #33! ;) Ewing isn't in the game in the normal rosters...or maybe he was but in the fifth season he isn't, the older guys already retired.

Sun Dec 25, 2005 5:31 pm

i just had my draft today before the 2nd season of my 06 dynasty (xbox) wit the knicks. i had the 25th ovrl and got this 6'1 SG, i think his name was Adofo Mekina. pretty pimp ass name... Adofo

anyway... hes a cool rook. i kno hes 6'1 and sg... but he really plays like an andre miller type pg... he cant shoot for shit. his fg and 3 point ratings are somewhere around 35-42... but hes extremely fast wit 84 speed. he zooms up and dwon the court. hes a good dribbler, 66 dribbling rating but seems like its 80+... and 74 inside scoring. 67 overall.

adofo  is really fun to play wit... cause its a challenge to score. i posted up once and hit a fadeaway and it was the best feeling... lol... i jus had a double OT game where he finished wit 25 points, 5 baords, 4 assists, 2 steals in his 1st nba game. 8/18 from the field

my lineup is jasikevicious/nate/adofo at the 1/2/3... and we go wit the 3-2 zone. pretty awesome lineup :P

if u hav a middle/late 1st round pick take him if hes in the draft... hes awesome. his name alone makes him worth it

Sun Dec 25, 2005 7:15 pm

you use someone who is 6'1" at sf? weird...

Limited potential means it is unlikely the rookie will get any beter in the future, but one with excellent potential means that they will likely to keep getting better and better and will more likely have a good NBA career.

Sun Dec 25, 2005 11:22 pm

wow... someone has been pumping steroids

Mon Dec 26, 2005 12:09 am

very/limited means their stats will drop
average means they will stay about the same
good/excellent means they will get lots better

Mon Dec 26, 2005 2:00 am

i have a guy called Martin Messina....he's 7'1 and 290lbs.

I drafted him #2OVR, he was projected Top 10. Anyways, he's got midrange game like Brad Miller, but he's really strong too. I'm averaging 17 & 11 with him, but he can't block a shot (0.4pg) despite a high jump rating (90). He finishes nicely on Alleyoops but DOESN'T DUNK EVER (36)....other than that he's gravy.

Mon Dec 26, 2005 2:11 am

messina was projected #2-5 overall in my dynasty, i cant remember, yet has excellent potential

he was 71-75 overall in the first year, i havnt simmed any years afterwards to see how he developes, but he is obviously someone to look out for in the draft
