Dan Peterson, in an Italian TV network, said that Artest wants to go to NY just to shoot more Laughing Laughing That's the most stupid thing I've heard in ages
Well, he does want to shoot more and be a more complete player.
"I'm not going to answer any more questions about Ron Artest," said Jermaine O'Neal on Monday. "Ron doesn't want to be here, so Ron doesn't matter anymore."

That's great.

I know this isn't a great trade, but how about Artest for QRichardson ?? Richardson is struggling this year, and Artest wants to go to NY. Not that the Pacers would want to trade Artest to a East team, but this could work. He can play the SG or the SF.

Maybe shoot more, in Queensbridge. He is that kind of psycho so you never know.

Yes, but he said that Ron wants to go to New York
JUST to shoot more
C'mon I know he's Artest but I seriously don't think that he wants to go to NY JUST to shoot more...
Wed Dec 14, 2005 6:50 am
Does he really think he'd get more shots in New York than in Indiana? He shoots around 15 a game, which is only about two less than what Kevin Garnett shoots a game in more minutes. And in New York he would have to compete with Marbury, Crawford, Richardson and the other ballers.
Wed Dec 14, 2005 7:27 am
I think his being from NY has something to do with it.
Wed Dec 14, 2005 7:33 am
But he says he wants shots and he wants to grow as a player, and then he says he'd go to NY or play behind Lebron? Contradictions?
Wed Dec 14, 2005 7:42 am
Well, he might have more scoring opportunities alongside LeBron than he would in the role he is now. In NY, he could be the go to guy along with Frye.
I'd love Artest in NY, but without giving up Frye, Robinson, or Ariza.
And I like Marbury, but wouldn't be heartbroken or anything if we got Artest in exchange for him.
Wed Dec 14, 2005 8:21 am
I think Indiana learned their lesson with Artest and is smart enough not to pick up Marbury. Makes me wonder if they'll get Rashard Lewis, despite his recent DUI and contract demands? Poor Pacers, they're in quite a dilemma.
Wed Dec 14, 2005 9:17 am
how do you think marbury and artest similar?
Wed Dec 14, 2005 10:12 am
Well, not exactly similar, just on-court troubles that doesn't really benefit the team.
Wed Dec 14, 2005 10:38 am
Don't you guys realize why Ron wants to go to NY? He's obviously got his record label and clothing lines etc. in mind. Where is he going to get more press and sell more records, Indiana, or New York?
Wed Dec 14, 2005 11:40 am
And in New York he would have to compete with Marbury, Crawford, Richardson and the other ballers.
He could kick their asses and show them who's the boss

No, not compete in that way. You can't take out only that sentence. Riot meant compete as in whose getting the shots.

I'm not that stupid, I was just making a really lame joke. Anyway, since you're a NYK fan, ck, who would you trade for Artest?
Thu Dec 15, 2005 2:10 am
John WB wrote:I'd love Artest in NY, but without giving up Frye, Robinson, or Ariza.
That's why it's not going to happen, John. Walsh is no dummy - he doesn't want the Knicks' garbage players, he wants Frye. No way Isiah's making that deal.
Some Knicks fans need to wake up. You're not going to fleece teams these days. You have to trade quality for quality. Unless you put Frye's name in the mix, forget it.
Thu Dec 15, 2005 2:14 am
Hm. Interesting. Knicks could actually have a promising roster if they kept their first round pics next year. Curry/Davis/james - Frye/Rose/Lee - Ariza/? - Richardson/Crawford - Marbury/Robinson plus a lottery selection (Gay?) and their MLE used on a Larry Brown type of guy could result in like... 30 wins

Looks like Sonics made inquiries, but i highly doubt it had anything to do with Rashard. If Sund doesn't intend to resign Rashard to max, he would have simply kept McMillan & Antonio Daniels, and probably not have risked losing Ray in free agency. They're saving every penny for a reason.
"Co-captains Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis said they wouldn't be opposed to adding a player with Artest's checkered past. "I think anybody would be welcomed until they prove otherwise," Allen said. "Whatever situations happened for a player in another city and for another team doesn't matter to me. I accept them for what they bring to the situation and how they act when they get here."
"If the Sonics were to make an offer, it might include Vladimir Radmanovic, a 6-foot-10 three-point specialist, and possibly Reggie Evans or Ronald Murray, whose contracts expire this season."
Seattle Times
Thu Dec 15, 2005 3:39 am
i think that Pacers would benefit with a bruiser like Evans but Radmanovic? please, Croshere does the same w/o the bitching.
Thu Dec 15, 2005 3:47 am
I don't know why would anyone want Radmanovic. ANYONE. He's an offensive black hole, can't D anyone up, can't rebound and doesn't know how to use his size and athleticism. Plus, like Matt said, he's bitching way, way too much. And they already have a bunch of 6'4'', 6'3'' guys playing the SG spot, so there's no need for another one in Murray.
I bet Nuggets would be happy to get him. They could play him at SG. I think someone brought up the Nene+Lenard idea... I would take it if I were Pacers. Obviously, they can't use Nene this season, but he could be that big man to play along JO. Indy, what do you think?
Thu Dec 15, 2005 4:27 am
Lenard can still play and shoot, but given his recent injury and his age, he's a risky one. Nene would be risky as well since who knows how persistent his serious injury would be after taking a whole season off.
Thu Dec 15, 2005 5:22 am
I wouldn't take Nene+Lenard. One is old, another is injury prone..not good..I believe there will be better offers..

heh artest is in a galaxy on his own in terms of on court troubles
other then demanding to be traded when he was on minnesota, i haven't seen Marbury do anything else to distinguish himself to be called an 'on court" problem
Thu Dec 15, 2005 9:30 am
Marbury's been one of the most consistent players in the league with his output on both the court and off.
I wouldn't be suprised to see Artest traded to the Cavaliers now with them struggling so much. Maybe some deal with Hughes. Don't know about the contracts..
Thu Dec 15, 2005 12:44 pm
kwame brown and devean george for ron artest and a first round pick -- would that work?
