Jonathan Bender will announce his retirement within the next 48 hours due to unbearable problems with both knees.

By all accounts, the exceptionally likable Bender may have been the best practice player in NBA history, but bone-on-bone pain was too much to endure

lol

I didn't know his injuries would be the way to his retirement. His injuries were bad though. It's just too bad for him.

What a pity, he could have had a nice career. (N)

Tue Dec 13, 2005 1:18 am

Indeed..poor guy :(

Tue Dec 13, 2005 2:33 am

 indiana should've got rid of him when they got the chance

Tue Dec 13, 2005 2:49 am

This makes him officially a worse draft pick than Darko and Kwame.

Tue Dec 13, 2005 2:53 am

We had a choice.

Good old JB. He played a major part in many NBA live 2006 championships.

He played a major part in many NBA live 2006 championships.

That's true  Sucks for him, he had talent.

Tue Dec 13, 2005 7:25 am

For whatever reason, I suspect he'll be back in a few years trying to find his way onto a team with a training camp invite. Much like the career Felipe Lopez is left with after suffering a brutal knee injury.

yeah I remember he was drafted by Toronto #5 overall in '99... who was he traded for?

Antonio Davis. AD wanted to start, he wasn't going to, and he was shipped out.

I guess the deal actually worked out for the Raps, huh? :D

I'm just glad Toronto didn't keep him and sign him to a large contract.

Ok, Ok, you've said enough.

Yes, Donnie has made two bad trades, the AD trade, and the Brad trade. Other then that, he's been stellar. Stellar I say!

still no announcement...

There was also the matter of AD fouling Larry Johnson while attempting a three-pointer, costing the Pacers a playoff series against the Knicks in the Eastern Finals.

So Bender was the reason why Brad was traded. I wondered about that trade considering Brad Miller was an all-star when he was in Indiana.

Sun Dec 18, 2005 2:54 am

I believe Brad was traded because of Money Measures.

Sun Dec 18, 2005 10:32 pm

brad was treaded because of money, right!

sad to see a young and very talented player leave this early :(

Mon Dec 19, 2005 2:44 am

no announcement yet, so maybe he won't retire ??

Yes, AD fouled LJ, but no, it was not during the shot. It was in fact the most bullshit call in NBA history, and I can't talk about it any longer then this without breaking something.

Mon Dec 19, 2005 4:01 am

 at Indy. Come on, release that anger, I'm sure everyone will understand.

Mon Dec 19, 2005 4:04 am

Reggie Miller is an overrated, anorexic, defensless bitch.

Jermaine O'Neal is a soft pussy without any sign of a killer instinct.

And most importantly, Pacers never won anything.

Just trying to help.

Mon Dec 19, 2005 4:18 am

haha wow... hes going bye bye already.
