doesnt lebron still have one more year of eligibility? isnt this like his last year to be able to participate in a dunk contest? he should be in the poll. but if only from those choices, id want nate robinson in it, just because

I definitely want J.R. Smith in it again. Chris Anderson sabotaged his dunk attempts.
If they are allowed in the contest, I'd also like Desmond Mason and Jason Richardson back into the contest. Those guys have unbelievable creativity to go with awesome hops.

i didnt know they had year requirements??!!!

J.R. Smith is gonna be there hopefully.
Josh Smith is prolly gonna be there to defend his title of reigning champion.
I want to see Gerald Green in this but he hasnt even stepped on the court yet. Yet one single minute in his NBA Career.

Vince Carter
Jason Richardson/tmac

The NBA has said before that the Dunk Contest is open to those with 3 years experience or less. Nobody is certain whether this is definately true or it's just an excuse to make up for the lack of big names willing to participate. I'm sure if the likes of Vince or Tracy were willing to compete, the League wouldn't deny them entry though.

It would be nice to see Lebron enter, but I'm not sure he'd do much apart from show off his hops. After seeing him do just that in the 2003 McDonald's High School All-American Powerade Slamfest (aka hs dunk contest), I thought that including other guys who may bring some creativity would be better. Don't get me wrong, Lebron's hops are a joy to witness, but I don't think he'd do anything creative or anything new.

its the rising stars dunk contest, which not only implies the fact theyre dunking, but also means there is limit of 3 years in the nba to be eligable.
the best imo, would include:
Josh Smith
Nate Rob (just great to see such a little man jump)
Lebron
JR Smith or AI2

I voted for Iguodala, he wasn't there last year and I'd love to see him there this year.

What about a contest with former-NBA-players? Manute Bol and Gheorge Muresan.
Thu Dec 01, 2005 1:26 pm
