anyone see this tonight. D Wade had 10 TO's, 4 of which were travels and 1 dbl dribble. A Walker had 3 travels amongst his 6 TO's.
Not to mention that Heat went on a scoring drought of 7 mins in the 3rd and blew a 13, 14pnt lead.
And on Heat's last possesion, they didn't look like they had a clue as to what they were doing.

I saw the game. It wasn't what I expected either. Wade 10 TO's was unusual, specially all the travels he commited. The game was off-paced. You never knew when a team was gonna step up or be in a scoring drought. You can see that Miami desperately wants Shaq back as soon as possible. However I did like the way Haslem played. He is quickly developing into a good offensive force.

miamis offence was looking ok untilmidway through the 3rd - then they just fell apart
their defence was fucking useless without mourning in there too
Thu Nov 10, 2005 5:12 pm
like i see Wade can`t do nothing without shaq.
Overrated guy i say
Thu Nov 10, 2005 7:52 pm
is it just me or did Miami play the same freaking play all the time? they had barely any screen and rolls on the ball too.
Neither team looked good tonight.

he STILL got like 25pts 10 rbs and 6 assists... overrated my ass
Thu Nov 10, 2005 10:39 pm
Wait... If he had 25 pts 10 rebounds and 6 assists along with 10 turnovers, doesn't that mean he got a triple double?
Thu Nov 10, 2005 10:41 pm
almost a quadruple doublee
Fri Nov 11, 2005 2:36 am
i think Jason Kidd got one of those back in Phoenix....i think he had a regular triple dbl + 14TO's.
anyways, anyone see 3 airballs in this game....Fred Jones, Jasikevicius....both were SAD. and Haslem, but that was out of his range.
Fri Nov 11, 2005 5:10 am
I thought we looked really really bad, but the fact that we were still able to win while playing as bad as we did is very promising.
Sarunas played excellent however.
Fri Nov 11, 2005 8:28 am
But the fact that you won by 5 points against the Shaq-less Heat might be a concern.
I enjoyed most of the game...

i can never understand that logic of saying it should be a concern. indiana won and miami lost.
actually without the big man there, miami is able to do a lot more things.
or how about indiana not playing with their starting center, foster, or his backup, pollard.

Well, David Harrison is definitley his backup, and Pollard played, but you're right about Foster nonetheless.
Drex, this was going to be a tough game with Shaq or without. I didn't expect the Pacers to win by more then 5 or so, Dwyane Wade is just that good, and Mourning is a better defender then Shaq anyway.
Fri Nov 11, 2005 11:16 am
Mourning played nicely, but Artest was just too hot to handle...
Wade had a nice game, too.

Fuuny enough I thought that Miami would have been better off if they didnt make the Shaq trade. They were coming off a playoff season and the players were young and really bonding together as a team. I loved the way they worked hard together, and shared wins and losses together. I dont believe they would have got to the Finals but I thought they would go deep. If all was how I wanted it, Miami would be a force coming into this season with Wade, Caron, Odom and Eddie ready to go play some serious ball. Now it just feels like a repeat of Shaq's last season in LA where they got all these stars and it didnt amount to anything.

Miami really needed Shaq though during that 7 min drought.

Yeah, Kidd pulled that one (and it didn't count as a quadruple), he blamed it on the refs for not calling fouls.

i've always thought that too, Odom is one of my fav players, i was all hyped when he started playing for the heat. then the big fat ass came to town, one of the players i'm not a fan of his game. we didn't need shaq that time, and we don't need him now, nor walker when posey is healthy.
Sat Nov 12, 2005 1:26 am
we don't need him now
He & Wade got "you" to the Eastern Conference Finals. Now hush up.

Come on, everyone knows that job was Michael Doleac's.
Sat Nov 12, 2005 2:56 am
Well, Wade was more valuable to the team last season, and he is yeat more valuable now. The heat should have gotten something better in return for all those good players. And Zo has always been a personal favorite of mine.
Sat Nov 12, 2005 3:25 am
To begin with, I wasn't disputing that Wade is/was more valuable. He is. I have no problems in accepting that but the fact still remains that that wasn't my argument.
Wade didn't get the Heat by himself. Shaquille played a large (no pun intended) in that. Wade's game is made easier by Shaquille. The defense collapses on Shaq, which opens the lane for a player such as Wade to slash in and make a nice basket.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Wade wouldn't be great without Shaq, I'm just saying his greatness is made less difficult to get with Shaq being around.
The Heat should've gotten something better? What? That deal was very very very much in you guys' favour. I mean, the leagues best center for 2 swingmen & Brian Grant? BRIAN GRANT?
Anyways, you keep living in the past saying you should've gotten something better, this discussion is over for me.

I'm usually not this rash but to say that the Shaq trade was bad for the Heat is ridiculous and just plain wrong. Dwyane Wade did play better, but Shaq had a shitload to do with that. Shaq makes everyone better. Proof? Just look at EVERYONE's stats once Shaq came in. Their whole FG% went up the roof. That's because no matter how shitty you think Shaq is, they will double triple team Shaq opening up everyone. Also, with the defense solely interested in stopping Shaq, players forget about other players. Which means, even the preparations of the teams are different. Remember, Shaq STILL doesn't EVER play 1 on 1 except for Ben Wallace sometimes. EVEN if Shaq didn't score 22.9 ppg or grab 10.4 rebounds, which is a 20 10 game btw, and you can't call a 20 10 game bad by any means, he would still be worth it because of the attention defenses have to give him!
