hear, Tim Duncan won it because possibly maybe Garnet and T-mac have nothing to work with because they can't make those players around them better. And just maybe, just maybe, Tim duncan can. his presence on the floor just makes the guys better as he draws defensive pressure towards him, grabs all the rebounds and gets fast breaks going easier. I don't know, just the little unoticed things he does. so what!
KG and T-mac get 5-6 assists a gamethats 12 or 10 points you've made the other players better. Duncan gets around 3, thats only 6. Just maybe though he draws so much attention down low, like shaq, he creates like 10 or 11 easy three baskets. And getting 23.3 pts, 12.9 rebs 3 assists and 2.9 blocks, is very good if you ask me. He also made the defense on that team good.
t-mac, hurt the D, and KG helped but i'd say not as much as TD.
Last year, Kidd made a BIG difference, but had a good team wit him. TD literally worked on his own last year, more than T-mac and Kg, last year TD did it like AI did when he won it.
This year, I'd take Kobe; only because i like him.

I have a formula I use for myself, something like the NBA.com, but deeper. It should be noted guys like Allen Iverson and Antoine Walker die quickly with all the shooting, especially Iverson for not getting many rebounds, assists and shooting so many bricks, Walker really suffered and I did not want him too, cause I like more than everyone except #34.
It breaks down like this
A=(missed two point shots = -1)+(missed three's = -1.5)+(missed FT's = -0.5)
B=(Points)
Scoring = (B-A)
Production = (Reb+Assists+Steals+Blocks)-(Turnovers)
Total Production = Scoring + Production
Toat Production/Minutes = Efficiency Percentage
Then I calculated the efficiency of each team and took away an individual players stats, came up with a team's effciency without player and concluded the player's impact of raising or lowering that team's effciency.
Then I took the player's total production and calculated it from the team's production, to determine the player's percentage of the team's total production.
I added those together by percentage and came up with a total impact statistic.
Adding the IMPACT STAT and EFFICIENCY PERCENTAGE, these were the results
Rank, Player, Effiency%, Impact = Total Value
1. Kevin Garnett 80.3 + 34.8 = 115.1
2. Tim Duncan 78.9 + 35.3 = 114.2
3. Shaq O'Neal 84.3 + 28.8 = 113.1
4. Tracy McGrady 71.0 + 22.4 = 97.6
5. Kobe Bryant 66.3 + 28.7 = 95.0
6. Dirk Nowitzki 68.3 + 26.5 = 94.8
7. Jermaine O'Neal 66.0 + 24.2 = 90.2
8. Chris Webber 66.4 + 20.7 = 87.1
9. Pau Gasol 62.7 + 24.1 = 86.8
10. Elton Brand 64.0 + 22.4 = 86.4
11. Karl Malone 63.3 + 23.0 =86.3
12. Ben Wallace 59.8 + 21.6 = 84.8
13. Paul Pierce 56.5 + 27.5 = 84.0

Notes: Scoring was looked at like this, if you don't shoot your team can not score, so I think a 5-15 effort is worth zero, because you missed 10 shots and I can't believe this is helpful really, if you shoot 3 pointers alot, you raise the risk of not getting a rebound for yourself and your team has less chance because the bouncing is wild at times, also you lower your percentage of making it as you move away from the basket. Free throws I was less critical on because many are frontends of two shots and you miss one, you miss one point and you are not lowering your team's chances of getting a rebound, most often the shooter's team doesn't get the rebound, thus the 1/2 of point for each miss. Did everyone know that Shaquille O'Neal shot a higher percentage from the foul line than Chris Webber?

If KG had been voted MVP, everyone here would have had discussions about Kobe deserving it more or T-Mac, but I don't think TD would be quoted as often as these 3 guys.......
