um, Detroit has McDyess, who is superior to any bench player Indiana has.

Secondly, you fail to mention Lindsey Hunter who is also defensively better than anyone on the Pacers bench.

Pistons bench: McDyess, Hunter, Davis, Evans.....experience and defense. Looks like a better bench than the Pacers.

I would take Saras, Granger or Harrison over McDyess.

Fred Jones and Anthony Johnson are also better then any of the Pistons bench players other then McDyess.

Saras hasn't played a game
Granger hasn't played a game
Harrison doesn't match Dice's impact and game smarts

This season people will get to see the Pistons bench and it's depth.

If Darko turns into a serviceble player (and I'm sure he will) and Flip utilizes Arroyo, they'll have one killer bench. Delfino didn't play last year, plus Evans is one of the most underrated players. Of course, I can't deny that Pacers' backcourt bench players (Fred Jones, Sarunas, Johnson) are better than Pistons' (Evans, Arroyo, Hunter), but it's also true that Pistons' frontcourt (McDyess, Milicic (he's gonna be real good), Davies, Maxiell, Delfino) can defeat anything you throw at them.

Fri Oct 14, 2005 3:42 am

Darko is said to look like a new man, free from the shackles of Larry Brown...bout time.

I wonder about Delfino, he's apparantely in good condition. Last season he showed some flashes of brilliance.

Arroyo is the mystery, he'll get PT but i wonder how good he'll be. Maybe Delfino will play backup PG (something he's easily capable of)

If you argue that Darko is going to be a force, then you can't have your argument against Saras and Granger be that they haven't played a game. Basically, neither has Darko.

Also, I like the potential and upside of Saras and Granger more then a declining, aging McDyess.

What does that have to do with anything?

Also, your sig says Tinsley is back... where did he go? If anyone is back is HULK or Ronnie. Get it straight or I'mma steal off yo ass. :P

Fri Oct 14, 2005 2:28 pm

im looking forward to milicic getting some time in games - hes doing really well in preseason (4 points, 4 rbds and 2 blocks in 3minutes vs. bucks today 8-) )

pacers got no chance :P haha
...*note* get artest suspended again all season... now they got no chance (Y)

on a more serious note it will be pacers/pistons for the east, miami is too many good players (team of champions will never beat a champion team) and philly (sorry, AI) isnt good enough to beat pacers or pistons

Fri Oct 14, 2005 5:48 pm

Darko....10 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks.

If you argue that Darko is going to be a force, then you can't have your argument against Saras and Granger be that they haven't played a game. Basically, neither has Darko.

whilst i didnt argue Milicic will be a force, he has actually shown what he can do when given time (those few occasions)

16 points in his only start :P and larry brown plays fucking darvin ham over him...

Sat Oct 15, 2005 2:27 am

Darvin Ham though is a good hustle guy, plus he can throw down.

Sat Oct 15, 2005 7:37 am

darvins still a hack, larry brown just really hated darko.

Not really he hated Darko's mind state. D wanted to be Toni Kukoc and LB wanted him to be Bill Russel.

Darko played real good tho 10 and 9 almost a double-double, nice. I thought Maxiell (8pts 3rebs i think) and Amir Johnson (2pts 4rebs) looked good too.

who the hell is Todd Day and when did he get signed?

Who’s that?
The Pistons brought in Todd Day, 35, to work out with the team during training camp. Day, who hasn’t played in the NBA since he rounded out his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2001, isn’t officially on the Pistons training camp roster. Day is a 6-6, 188-pound guard who has most recently played for the Arkansas Rimrockers of the ABA during the 2004-05 season.

Pistons Request Waivers On Todd Day

Day
Detroit Pistons President of Basketball Operations Joe Dumars announced that the club has waived guard Todd Day.

Day scored four points (1-4 FG, 2-2 FT) with one rebound and one assist in six minutes during the Pistons 95-88 win over Milwaukee on 10/13.

Darko, Delfino and Dupree all have strong camps so far as far as exhibition games on. That's a first, considering no young players actually EVER had a good camp under Brown.

The bench looks very promising at this point. Darko is definately making strides, and adding team depth. I'm feeling confident about this season.

Mon Oct 17, 2005 7:39 pm

looks like prince is having some problems with his contract extension... dumars better just fucking offer him more

he wants a 5year, $60m contract but is only being offered a 5year $45m-60m... imo, hes fucking worth the extra 2-3mil a year

http://www.mlive.com/sports/statewide/i ... xml&coll=1

Mon Oct 17, 2005 9:25 pm

Dumars is offering 45-50.
I'd happily sign him for 5yrs & 60mill. (12 mill/year).

Hmm, Ben Wallace is a FA too after this season. I see potential cap problems for Detroit. It's probably expected that Prince, and each Wallace will have a 10mill a season salary.
Joe D is a genious though so he'll figure something out. He always manages to get players at bargain prices (Stackhouse, Billups, Hamilton, Wallace)

Thu Oct 20, 2005 7:41 am

dupree might be getting traded... but maybe not

The guy that's most likely to be traded is Dupree, although the Pistons may start to listen to some inquiries about McDyess if Darko continues to progress the way he has."

"If Darko continues progressing the way he has, and someone approaches the Pistons with a really good offer in exchange for McDyess, I can't imagine why they wouldn't consider it. He's a great guy and has a killer fadeaway jumper, but Joe D. has made it clear that he will upgrade his roster if the opportunity presents itself, even if it means trading someone he really likes and cares for. He really liked Stackhouse, and he really liked Lindsey Hunter, guys that he played with. But when a deal was on the table that could bolster the Pistons, he didn't hesitate in trading either one of them. Again, I don't believe the Pistons are thinking about doing anything with McDyess now. But it wouldn't surprise me if they gave it some thought at some point this season." - Michigan Live

Thu Oct 20, 2005 3:35 pm

I think they should keep McDyess for this season.

Trading Stackhouse was different because the team sucked then. Now they are contenders and McDyess is a huge part of that. If anything, trade him after this season, i wanna see McDyess nail those 16-18ft J's another season for us.

Thu Oct 20, 2005 5:49 pm

depending how milicic goes, i think mcdyess could be traded halfway through the season. we need a decent shooter, and we arent exactly short on talls.

Thu Oct 20, 2005 6:00 pm

McDyess and Dupre for Von Waferwagon pls.
