kobelive2006 I didnt test out your sliders, but why is the block sliders so low when blocks are very hard to come by ?

i mentioned on my fifth post in page 1 that i'm going to increase it and set it at 20 or 25..... i just haven't change it on the images on my first post.... and that's probably the last change.....

thought id post my starting sliders... im playing 12 min quarters on all star. (superstar seems to do too many cheap comebacks and is just too hard) i will raise blocks and steals by 5 points every 5 games or so until the averages are right on both sides.

Game Speed: 30 seems realistic to me, still fast when you go turbo
Free Throw Difficulty: 100
Boundary Force Field: 100
Injury Frequency: 25
Fatigue Effect: 50
Charge/Block Foul Frequency:10
Shooting Foul Frequency:20
Reach-in Foul Frequency: 30
In-air Collision Foul Frequency: 40 (i dont like living at the line really....)

USER:

User Steal Ability: 0
User Interception Ability: 0
User Shot Block Ability:0
User Dunk/Lay-up Block Ability:0
User Freestyle Effectiveness: 50
User Dunk vs. Lay-up Frequency: 10
User Substitution Frequency: 0
User On-ball Defense Assist: 100
User Offensive Rebounding: 0
User Defensive Rebounding: 100
User Fakeout Discipline: 75
User Short Range Shooting: 50
User Medium Range Shooting: 45
User Long Range Shooting: 40
User Dunk Percentage: 35
User Lay-up Percentage:30
User Adjusted Shot Percentage: 25
User On-ball Physical Defense: 100
User Poor Release Shot Percent: 20
User Double-team Effectiveness: 25
User Pro Hop Effectiveness: 50
User Drop Step Effectiveness:50

lowering the dunk frequency seems to cut down on dunks... except when using power and highflyer types. might lower them further to prevent future dunk fests....
and with how difficult it is to score at the basket when defenders are all over it, i thought my layup and dunk % should be lower than my shooting

CPU:

CPU Steal Ability:0
CPU Interception Ability: 0
CPU Shot Block Ability: 0
CPU Dunk/Lay-up Block Ability:0
CPU Freestyle Effectiveness: 50
CPU Dunk Frequency: 10

CPU Adjusted Shot Frequency: 100
CPU On-ball Physical Defense: 75
CPU Poor Release Shot Percent: 0
CPU Double-team Effectiveness: 25
CPU Pro Hop Effectiveness: 50
CPU Drop Step Effectiveness: 50

even with dunks/layups set at 0 the cpu will attack the basket every time without me being able to get a guy in front to stop them. (why dont user controlled defenders cut off the lane yet cpu defenders wont let you near the basket?) at least now they will miss a few, but they still get too many damn layup attempts. at least this way the cpu has to beat you with the jumper (set at 60) and it cuts down on points in the paint

after i get a few games played i'll post the stats...
probably be in a few days

and yeah... steals and blocks need tweeking

I think the only thing that will change that is by lowering every players offensive rebounding by 30 or 40 and upping every players devensive rebounding with 40........but that shit will take a lot of work.

I keep husseling back to block a shot with Kobe or Mihm and some other guy just picks up the ball and dunks it while my other players are just walking over the ball and shit. pretty frustrating. this happens 8 times a game, i think.

I was trying to think why I was dominating on All-Star level but have frustrating losses on Superstar, this is it. Exactly whats happening to me, Yao or someone will block the shot, my guys will walk over it, then Parker will walk in pick-up the ball and lay it in, frustrating as hell.

Hey, kobelive, I was your biggest sliders in fan 2005, I am still using them. I am going to buy Live2006, but only if the sliders are looking good. Would you say they are up to the kind of quality you had them at in 2005?

Thanks mate

Currently using these silders, created by nicosantos76. I like them a lot. Very tough though, easy baskets are virtually non existent. I will be posting results and stats in my franchise posts.

free throw difficulty:65 - 75 (this is personal, depends on how good are you at shooting FTs)
boundary force field:100 (in order to decrease easy baskets by just driving in towards the basket)
injury frequency:40
fatigue effect:50
charge/block foul frequency: 100 (helping inside defense)
shoothing foul frequency: 20 (I don't want to spend the whole game ishooting FTs)
reachin foul frequency: 60 (to avoid stealing attempts from wrong angles)
in air collision foul frequency: 50 (I agree, if you increase this you'll spend your life shooting FTs, it also helps inside scoring defense)

user/cpu

steal:25/30
interception:20/20 (to avoid passing to PF or C with ease)
shot block:55/60 (don't worry, you won't get many blocks by playing this sliders)
dunk lay up block:55/60
freestyle effectiveness:40/40
dunk-lay up frequency:5/5
substitution frequency:50/50
user on ball defense assitst:70/70
offensive rebonds:0/0
defensive rebonds:100/100 (and still I guess attributes editing on players will be necessary to avoid excesive off reb)
fake out discipline:100/90
short range:33/33
medium range:37/37
longe range:35/35
dunk percentage:30/35 (your big man will still dunk on some guys, but this prevents highflyers to dunk on Shaq)
lay up percentage:30/30 (you may think it's too low, but players will miss only if well guarded)
adjusted shot percentage:30/30 (find the open guy, you wann collide inside and shoot adjusted shots, then miss as you will do in real games)
cpu adjusted shot frequency: -/30
on ball physical defense:100/100 (it prevents easy penetrations for inside shots)
poor release shot percentage:25/25 (again, find the open guy, if u r well guarded and shoot some brick don't expect it falling in very often)
double team effectiveness:60/60 (we need to force the big man to pass the rock instead of always having time to look for the dunk or layup)
pro hop:30/30
drop step:30/30

Best sliders I've seen so far

Postby asylum777 on Tue Oct 11, 2005 3:09 pm

for nice, hard and quite realistic sliders, try nicosantos76. I just used them in my second dynasty game using the Bulls against the Cavs and straight away I was down 10 nil. At one point I was down 32 points but managed to get it down to about 8 before losing by 12 points. Top scorer and player of the game was Lebron with 31 points 7 boards and 6 assists and top scorer and rebounder on mine was Chandler with 22 points and 15 rebounds and a massive 7 blocks which I didn't think I would get. Quite realistic sliders which some people may want to change a bit but the best I've seen up to now. Maybe just change the game speed up a bit in my opinion.

I have done a bit more testing with the nicosantos76 sliders I have been using, but I am going off the results a bit. My shooting %s are very low, unless I am a team with several 'superstars', and so are the computers. It isn't uncommon for both teams to shoot under 38%. It's very hard to score, it's pretty easy to play great D (virtually ANYTHING even half contested, including dunks, layups, midrange Js and 3s, won't drop).

I am going to give brad feet's (kobelive) sliders a go, his 2005 sliders were excellent.[/b]

Currently working on my own set of sliders, using Brad Feets as a template. I like the gameplay in these sliders, but the stats are coming up very unrealsitic at the moment, and it doesn't seem very hard to win, just take the ball to the hole. Midrange and 3point shooting isn't a factor.

Lets see how this goes. Version 1 will be posted soon.

Any feedback is much appreciated. I am trying to create a set that are both fun and challenging; the relatively high game speed of 50 means that they aren't super realistic like many of the sets.

Once I have ironed out a couple of minor things, realistic stats should be there as well. The only thing that is making this a real challenge are the 'superstars', the way they play really changes the game.

I am going to go back to nicosantos76s sliders again, get a feel for them. I like them, they are probably the best bet so far. I am still going to work on my own though, see if I can find something good. My set is pretty good, but it has some issues I am trying to deal with.

Known issues with IJBL Sliders v1.0:
*Shooting %s for both teams too high
*Too many offensive rebounds (not much I can do though)
*Not a whole lot of assists being handed out
*Only those superstar interior defenders getting any blocks

in regards to nicosantos76 sliders, like I said, so far the best. I've made a few adjustments for myself as I feel it is a bit too tight on D. Any suggestions on how to bring the computer blocking the ball so much down low all the time and to occassionally get a few fast breaks going? When ever I do get a steal the computer is almost always at the basket so I don't get any fast break opportunities? Also, maybe it's the settings but does anyone else have the problem of the ball always going behind the back board out of bounds quite frequently?

Are these sliders good for people who like to simulate and watch the games. If not does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

hey ijblpacers....... thanks for the compliment on my 2005 sliders.... nicosantos' sliders give realistic stats but the only preblem for me is i dont really like the game speed w/c is 36... yes you can press turbo but the problem is the cpu is playing like they're in slowmotion..... i really like the idea of setting the cpu doubleteam effectiveness to 60 on his sliders but the only problem is if your playing with a shooter(kobe, tmac, etc...) and you dump the ball below with the shooter as the passer to a big man, the cpu will double the post player resulting in a wide open shooter and making them score a lot.... maybe 55 will do..... i think the only solution to the big man scoring easilly inside is by setting the cpu on-ball physical defense to 90 or maybe 100...... wait a minute..... why not decrease the short range shooting more....... maybe a 30 will do with the cpu on-ball physical defense set at 90....... and be sure to post it coz i dunno if you'll come up with a better solution..... im gonna try it too........... good luck.......
