Rafer Alston is so overrated it's not even funny.

Great trade for the Raptors. They got a good player (Mike James is underrated, IMO) who is a team player. I think the Raptors will be better off without Alston's streetballing turnovers..ahem, skillz.

Wow, I didn't know I could get yelled at for expressing my opinion on a trade.

Mike James>Rafer Alston

No doubt in my mind.

I keep confusing Marcus Banks with Mike James, but for some reason, I like the trade. The Raptors would probably end up more as a team player than with the inconsistent Alston. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Mike James is a good defender, right?

Rafer Alston is not a very good defender. Yao Ming and the rest of the Rockets will be put in some tough situations because when Rafer gets beat the big men have to step up and defend that basket. That probably means Yao will get in foul trouble once again.

Do you think Jeff Van Gundy and Alston will get along? Van Gundy wants his PG to control the game and play good defense. Alston doesn't do either of that. Alston creates a lot of distractions on and off the court for the team. He certainly isn't the easiest guy to get along with.

Mike James is a good defender and he is capable of defending point guards and shooting guards. The Raptors just got a great team player to come off the bench (Calderon to start probably) to defend the opposing PGs and SGs. Not to mention James can shoot as well. He shoots a higher FG%, FT% and 3PT% than Alston.

I think it was a great move by Babcock and pushed the Raptors in the right direction. The team can't afford distractions and Alston creates a lot of those. I'm sure Van Gundy will have a lot of fun trying to deal with him.

A. Why are you bringing politics into this?
B. Some people have different opinions. I think James is a better player and teammate than Alston.

Stop spazing out that I don't think Alston is the greatest thing since silced bread because he can do a behind the back pass for an ally-oop. I'm sorry.

Next time I'll remember to keep my opinion to myself on a message board and agree with everything you say lpasso.

Mike James is a better player than Rafer. Rafer lets his emotions get to him sometimes, and doesnt make very good decisions. I agree with you Riot with what you said.

James is in a contract year. Alston has a huge 6 year contract. How doesn't that help Toronto's future?

Go Toronto !!!

Mike Jones improved alot this off-season. Can't wait to see him in a Raptors uniform coming October 24th. Ill be coming to Winnipeg to go watch.

Also Mike James is a defensive minded player and we need that type of player.

I thought Toronto was going for a youth movement. They could have got a pick or a nice young player out of the deal but what you said makes sense though.

This give us a lot of cap flexibility in the later years and opens up a lot more playing time for Calderon and when Ukic comes here. I'm loving it.

Mike James plays a little bit like a shooting guard and shoot a little more than I would like, but Mike is definitely an upgrade over Alston in terms of playmaking and setting up an offence.

Finally, a semi-smart move by Babcock.

Not a bad trade for Toronto and I somewhat agree with what Riot said. Alston's not a team player and is a shoot first PG.

To be honest, James is shoot first too but he plays good defense and he is a team player.

Honestly I agree with Riot on this one.. Mike James can shoot the shit outta skip. Rafer is probably one of the most overated players in the NBA. James should be interesting to watch.
Preparation will only take you so far. After that you've got to take a few leaps of faith.
