So Andrew, I dont mean to sound like an arse, but whats the progress report on the new roster update.....im hanging to start my dynasty!
By roster update I mean with all the missing players added aswell, not just fixed transactions (Y)

Yeah, when will be the first update ready so I can start my Dynasty (PC version, of course).

Haven't started it yet.

a) Because I'd actually like a chance to enjoy the game
b) Because I work full time and I don't always feel like spending a whole lot of time sitting in front of a computer when I get home, after spending most of the day in front of a computer at work.

Any progress, I'll let you know. I won't be answering questions about the release this year either, I've got the sticky again. Any questions about the release dates will be ignored from now on. If I have a date in mind, I'll be sure to let everyone know. Thank you.

Nick: Probably a mixture. If a player deserves Freestyle Superstar abilities chance are his ratings will allow it anyway, I suppose I might boost ratings in some cases though I would prefer not to.

Hmm, you know what... i think the overall ratings are between 50 and 99 again... so that would explain why everybody looks so overrated.

Then again i'm not sure. But i haven't seen a 49 yet. The overalls are on par with live01.

Just to add to my previous post: I don't mean to be rude or abrasive, but I get that question an awful lot and I think I've made my position on the roster releases fairly clear. i cant seem to be able to download the roster updates that you guys are putting up cuz they are upload in rapidshare...
so...
andrew if u have completed the update can u post it in somewhere where i can be able to download?
i mean can u post it in another link where is not rapid share so i cant download....thx u if u can do it...it will be a great help for me

No - those are not my patches. My patches will always be available on the NLSC's server. You'll have to ask the creators of those patches about that.

and to most of the complains...this is my view...

many say that james have greater str then most centre and power forwards...
but i think that jame is a shooting guard and is diff from big man...
so so matter how much they put james str, it will nv be stronger then bigman. just like their speed...bigman if u put the speed to max it will nv be faster then guard whose speed is max...
so i think that we must see their position...

I 've a suggestion (but it's possible, that you planned to make the thing... )
We see, that players jump tooooo high !!!! When a player blocks another player, his head is in the level of the rim. It's not very realistic.

So, I tried to decrease the values of the "JUMP" column in the players.dbf. I decrease these with 50 %. And after this, I didn't see, that players watch into the rim .)

Can you try to make in your tweaked roster something like this ?

Sorry, I will not be releasing any more tweaked roster patches. I'll be updating rosters but I will not be doing any mass tweaks. Sliders make them basically redundant and it just screws up Dynasty Mode too much.

Roster should be coming soon, can't set a date yet but it shouldn't be too far off. Keep the suggestions coming, I'll do as much as I can in the initial update but please understand that the first update will also involve creating a lot of players and making quite a few transactions.

I would advocate a few changes in player position just to make sure that the AI doesn't slide players into position they probably wont play too much.

Example:

with Jermaine O'Neal as a Pf/C, the AI often tends to start O'Neal at center with Bender at PF. Something that will not happen frequently or at all. Sure O'Neal plays some C, but in case of longevite realism - aspecially in Dynasty Mode, a PF/C position for him makes for some strange lineups.

Is there a primacy rating? Because in edit player there isn't such thing. They removed it or it is but it's hidden in edit player (you can "See" it if you edit the database)?

Alright, I'm almost done with my list of suggestions for player rating adjustments (as mentioned in the initial post of this thread). However, what slows me down right now are the Steal and Block ratings. A LOT of players have very high block and steal ratings when they shouldn't based on their skills and stats. For example, players like Adrian Griffin, Lindsey Hunter, Antonio Burks, Marquis Daniels, Devin Harris, Eddie Gill, Tamar Slay, Donta Smith, Randy Livingston and Jason Hart all have steal ratings of 84 and above, and guys like Kendrick Perkins, Etan Thomas, Al Jefferson, David Harrison, Loren Woods, Eddie Griffin have block ratings of 84 and above. This is just not right, and I was about to write them all down and suggest you to decrease them...

...however, I now wonder whether EA deliberately upped the steal and block ratings in order to limit the effectiveness of the offensive superstar moves. How are you going to deal with these ratings, Andrew? Maybe I should just post my suggestions without commenting on these two categories and let you handle it the way you like.

Um, I just realised that some rebound ratings are way off, too. For example, Jamal Sampson has a defensive rebound rating of 99, and Jahidi White has an offensive rebound rating of 96! Apparently EA has calculated these ratings (rebounding, steal and block) on per-minute stats, this is the only explanation that makes any sense to me.

I won't post suggestions on these categories as there are just so many mistakes that it would take too much time to write them all down.
