Blocking

Postby Led Zeppelin on Sun Oct 02, 2005 4:00 am

I was wondering how do you do FSS blocks? I know you hold L1+Triangle but everytime I do that it justs does this weird jumping up and trying to block animation and doesn't block. Has anyone actually done one of those blocks like in the preview for Inside Stopper before exibition games? like swat a dunk far away or block the ball against the back board?

You gotta time it right as well as be in the right direction. It's not that hard once you get the hang of it.
A tip would be to push the button right before the offensive player leaves the ground. Try to be early for it.

I swatted a tear drop attempt of Parker away with my created player. It works. It isn't easy to do, but that's logical, no?

Edit: I've learned not to use it too much, I get dunked on hard.

Nick had that in his sig some time back. He had edited by Nick 2000+ times. Freaked the hell out of me the first time around. After that a few guys started doing it & it got lame. :(

It's so hard to block.
I have to turn Block Rating to 100, and I still get very little blocks.

I havn't really notice if there are different types of blocking thou.

very important question:

does the CPU blocks most of your shots in 06 the way it is in 05?

The blocks are shit, i get about 7 blocks a game on the stat sheet but in the game it looks like only 2...

five of the blocks just go blop and stop right in front of another offensive player and they just lay it in...

it sucks majorly

If you re using the PS2 controller:
Triangle: Normal Block
L1+Triangle: Swat Block

Sway block is useless to block a shot..
What it is useless is to block a dunk/layer up...

I hate that. The CPUis programmed to always follow the direction the ball is going after your guy blocks it, before you even enter the block animation. Even if the ball happens to land right on your teammate, they will not pick it up. Rather, the CPU will skate to the ball, slide you away, suck the ball to their hands, and an easy layup.

yep. that's THE single worst thing about Live 06. Barely even a point in attempting to block a layup. it's just an automatic 2 points on the follow.
