...on April 16th (vs. the Raptors). The new logo will be used for the remainder of the season but the new jerseys won't be in use till next year.

April 16th? Too late in the season for a fresh new look to have an impact on their success.
When the Cavaliers host the Toronto Raptors that evening, each fan in attendance will receive a free souvenir t-shirt with the new Cavaliers logo and colors, the first piece of merchandise bearing the new insignia.
I'm sure all 19 people in attendance will be thrilled.

Additionally, the game presentation that night will be highlighted by great moments in team history, visits from legendary Cavaliers players
In other words, Mark Price and Brad Daugherty will be on hand as footage is shown of Mark Price winning the 1993 and 1994 3 Point Shootouts. Actually, Larry Nance was there for a few years as well, he could be in attendance and his victory in the inaugural dunk contest could be shown.
Seriously though, I always wonder if teams believe logo/colour changes will have an impact on team succees or player morale? If the latter were true, perhaps the Cavs should change their colours to LeBron James' high school's colours.

Haha you forgot about the Jordan stopper VS MJ. That duel was a CLASSIC
As for the colours and Lebron James, well it's a bit less subtle than a hummer

There are some examples of teams changing uniforms and having success. For example the Suns 92-93 season, Sonics 95-96 season, and Jazz 96-97. Could be a coincidence though.

You could add the 1999/2000 Lakers to that list too. But...
Lakers: Phil Jackson took over as head coach
Suns: Barkley's first year in Phoenix
Sonics: Acquired Hersey Hawkins, Kemp and Payton had a great season
Jazz: Malone had a great year, Stockton hit some big shots.
But they all had an updated look while they achieved, even if it wasn't responsible.

Maybe it's the time for the Bulls to do something...
At least to preserve the old look as a winner look...
Thu Mar 06, 2003 10:56 am
Ah, but then you have teams like the Spurs and Sonics going retro with their new uniforms - hope that it will rekindle the glory days? Perhaps if the Bulls brought back their 84/85 jerseys, they'll draft another player with the third pick who will be their franchise player for over a decade...or perhaps not.
Thu Mar 06, 2003 8:37 pm
Or maybe they could make some smart front office moves? That might help? Or they could get that 3rd pick, draft him, watch him become the best ever then choose a college coach instead of keeping him for a few more years.

New uniforms are always nice though, just to add something new wihtout actually having to do something. Easy way to make people think they're getting a facelift.
Fri Mar 07, 2003 8:22 am
Yes, always a nice thing, i hope the new jerseys help the Cavs to have a better record next year.
Fri Mar 07, 2003 12:14 pm
What would really help the Cavs improve their record would be LeBron James wearing those new jerseys.

You sure about that?
Anyway...they were due for a change. I like the uniforms. I do hope they get Lebron. That franchise needs some good news.

Im not a clippers fan but looks to me those jerseys are close to the Clippers' if they haven't changed it, if they did, then to the old jerseys.

That's a good thing, those clippers jerseys are the best ones in the league.
