They should trade Haywood

they wont trade haywood, jahidi will go if they do trade a centre

plus with Etan Thomas back next year and a new rookie center

you dont know that they will draft a centre, they need guards

With all this talk of Kwame Brown not developing you have to remember a couple of things even if he has disappointed:

1. Collins consistently yanks him in and out of the starting line up with every little mistake, how can he develop when his coach shows no confidence in him?

2. He only gets 12pts & 7rebs in a 37min outing because he has been yanked in and out all season so much that he is uncertain of how long he wiill be on the floor, which affects his confidence level and thus he does not play as well as he should.

3.Next season if Washington allows Kwame to play through his mistakes ALL season long and get consistent minutes since they will probaly not be contending, then we can judge him(if its our place to judge, how many are paying for tickets to Wizards games? ) on a full season not sporadic spurts when Collins yanks him every few minutes.

I'll take your word for it as I have seen 2 wizards games this year (one was against the raptors I think at the beginning of the season and Kwame had something like 5-6 blocks, but that was back when Allan Houston and Gleen Robinson were averaging 30 ppg  ) Something like that would deterioate anyone's confidence.

I live in the area so I see alot of their games, and the first part of the season Collins was letting him play, but when Jordan was inserted/inserted himself into the starting line up Collins switch to all the Vets to get to the playoffs.

i do get your point but kwame has been kept out the lineup to make way for Christian Laettner, a guy kwame should be running rings round.

No he shouldn't Laettner is a seasoned veteran. Kwame is learning the NBA game, even slowler because of his limited chances.

man if that chump needs 37 mins to get 12 points and 7 rebounds he doesn't deserve to start

Do you expect him to score 20+ with guys like MJ and Stack firing all night? Then he also has to contend with Hughes and Laettner.

Given the opportunity to prove himself, I'm sure Kwame will establish himself as a capable player next season. The point I was trying to make was that the Wizards should let MJ's last game be a fitting finale for him - not make it the Stack Show or make it Kwame's game to break out. He's not going to do that in a couple of games at the end of the year anyway, he needs a whole season with consistent minutes to do that. So with that in mind, let MJ make April 16th @ Philadelphia a memorable final show.

I wasn't trying to say the Wiz should let it be a breakout game for Kwame, we all know one game doesn't mean anything, it should be Jordan's game. I never said this final game should be Kwame's. My point is the Wiz should have been giving Kwame the chance to break out all year. Not just give him a dozen or so games at the start of the season, then give up on him and go back to giving him 10 minutes a game. The Wizards have not done a good job of developing Kwame. I didn't think the Bulls were doing well with Curry, but he seems to have finally got it.

I know you weren't saying that, and I agree with you on Kwame, the Wizards haven't given him much of a chance (or done much to build his confidence). I think that will change next season with MJ gone, and Washington again looking towards the future, rather than just playing for now (as they did this season).

The problem is I started two discussions with one post, one regarding Kwame and one regarding the nature of MJ's last game, with both of them tied together in a disjointed sort of way. :)

I understand Andrew...

John, regarding Kwame's practice habits, he is just what? 20 years old? He is not used to how hard you have to work to succeed in the NBA yet, the same thing was said about McGrady& O'neal, and now they are superstars, so atleast wait until the Wizards give him a full season to develop and then see what.

Also, those outside of Washington do not understand that the Wizards have given up on too many good young players already being impatient, so I say wait this one out, because if they trade Kwame he will probably go be a productive player somewhere else while we end up with more trash.

For all you guys that are taping the game, can you upload the video somewhere so those of us without cable can get a glimpse of MJ's last game?

Well, MJ played 28 minutes in his final game. (N)

15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists. Not exactly the finale I was hoping for, but at least he scored in double figures. To be honest, I kind of expected Collins to do this, though I figured it would be about 15 minutes or something.

Ah well. At least MJ can retire "at peace with the game of basketball" and people who do not like MJ will not have to hear about him anymore. But as far as I'm concerned, even though all the video tributes, standing ovations and accolades show the highest respect for him, it would have been even better if the final tribute was a grand performance on the court.

So that's the final chapter of Michael Jordan the player. But as far as the season goes, there's other stories to be told in the upcoming playoffs.

(Yes, I could have avoided being cliche there, but I couldn't resist. :P)

Well it's over, I wish he could have played one more season, but with all the tributes and everything it really hits home that the greatest athlete of all time is officially retired.

He should have played more minutes, and taken more shots...

The Lakers are going to retire number 50 when they disqualify the Spurs in the 2nd round,. In honor to David. Showing some respect as well.

You could just ignore posts you don't like, and I think scub brought up a good point, David Robinson, hall of famer for sure, and one of the 50 best players in nba history, is playing his last season, but he's hardly getting any exposure.

Thanks for the advice but I think I'll post where I want.

As for David Robinson I think he's been fantastic for the league, done it all except won a finals mvp. I don't mind him getting a fitting tribute. But what Scubilete said was just a smart ass comment which got a smart ass reply..

Not a smart ass comment, it was just my thought of what things should be like once the Lakers win that second round. However, like Dan said, David is retiring and he barely got any recognition, I don't care if someone else gets recognitions in their final year, but great players for sure should get theirs, including Malone & Iverson.

NBA Fan wrote:done it all except won a finals mvp

Exactly, especially when it's not so important to get an MVP finals which would just say you had a terrific series. That's like getting the all-star MVP. One terrific game,.

Robinson is one of the greatest in the NBA history and if you guys feel angry for not showing respect to MJ (like this big answer felt), you should feel the same way for not showing respect to Robinson, it's simple like that.
