Fran Vazquez looked very impressive vs. Croatia. Posting up some big numbers. 26 points, 9 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 1 Steal, and 3 Blocks. Too bad choose Europe over coming to play for Orlando this year. Also Raptors guards Roko Ukic and Jose Calderon were against each other today. Calderon had 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal today. Pretty good numbers. Ukic had 15 points and 2 steals. Also a guy named Juan Carlos Navarro is doing very well. Avg 28 points in this tournament. I think that the Wizards have his draft rights. Of course the NBA Stars are doing well like Dirk, Andrei, Tony, Boris and etc.

Asian basketball is really far different from Americas and Europe si I guess comparing US team to asian teams is really unfair.

but for the topic,Im impressed with juan Carlos Navarro and Pascal Roller of Germany,he look similar to Tony parker i think he will be a great NBA player.

Brezec looked like a decent NBA player, impressing everyone with his good mobility, heart and decent post moves. He'll make a superb backup centre on a championship or a decent one as a starter on a playoff team. He has range, he's not a complete stiff and he gives you everything he's got. That's a rare combination for a 7'1'' guy.

Mickael Gelabale is a decent player already, he is very athletic, although he still has to reach his psychical maturity. He still has a ton of potential left.

Boris Diaw has all tools to become a Bowen-type defender in the L. He has length, vertical and lateral quickness to stop practically anyone. His handles are superb for someone who's 6'8'' (think Joe Johnson), although he still makes way too much turnovers. His shooting mechanics are rather decent, although he'll never be much more than a role player on offense. He rarely drives left, his range is limited and he struggles to take defenders off the dribble. I hope he'll dedicate himself into becoming a superb defender, work on his standstill shooting (a la Bowen) and on his left hand. He could make a great role player on of these days.

Mickael Pietrus dissapointed me. He surely is big (around 6'7'' with his shoes on), strong and athletic, but he still has ways to go before he evolves into a 'European Jordan' like everyone were saying he would. He is capable of moving off the ball, is a great talent on the defensive end and has decent range, but he has to become more aggresive on offense. I haven't seen his handles yet, but I got an overall feeling that he's more of an natural three than a guard. But then again, he missed a few games because of an injury, so I didn't have many chances to see him play (and I'm also not a big GSW fan).

Tony Parker has a dominant quickness, speed and great finishing ability, but that's about it. Like in NBA, he showed no jumpshot and his drive&dish ability is severely limited by his own talented. He's a role player at best and had a lot of luck because he had opportunity to play with guys like Duncan and Ginobili (who's a much better playmaker than TP ever will be).

Darko is a victim of Larry Brown's tyrany. He has hart, he is obscenely gifted both psychically (7'1'' with 7'5'' wingspan and superb athleticism) basketball-wise. Self-confidence is the only thing he lacks right now and I trully hope that the Piston's new coaching staff will fix that. IMO, he played better than Krstic, especially on D (decent rebounder, monster blocker) and his two or three years younger than him, plus much better athletically. And Krstic in widely seen as a player with All-Star potential. That tell's you a lot about Milicic's ceiling.

Nowitzki played harder than he ever plays in the NBA, but his game was pretty much the same: a lot of offence, no defence. He's soft and his relative lack of athleticism still hurts him.

The biggest disapointment (at least for me) was Marko Tomas. He can be a truly great player in Europe, at least as good as Rigadou and Bodiroga in their primes, but he'll be a bust in the NBA. He is slow, lacks good quickness or overall athletic ability and I also don't think he has game to make up for his psychical shortcomings. Plus, his arms are unbeliavable short. He is 6'8'' with his shoes on but with an winspan of only 6'7''.

Mario Kasun is big, strong centre with decent athleticism. He has no length, but he makes up for that with eneregy he brings on the court. He can block, rebound and score. Whoever signs him next year, will get a steal. He'll make a good backup centre.

Other observations:
Calderon will probably make a decent second stringer in the L and so would/will guys like Erazem Lorbek (he killed Dirk on D), Navarro, Ukic (quick, fast, superb passer, decent scorer, although he'll always be skinny. He has all the tool to become a good NBA starter in a couple of years.), Vasquez,...
