Timberwolves re-sign Anthony Carter!

Postby Riot on Sun Sep 11, 2005 12:14 am

Sports Illustrated - Free agent guard Anthony Carter re-signed Friday with the Minnesota Timberwolves .

Carter, a 6-foot-2, 195-pounder, has played six years in the NBA, including last season with Minnesota. He averaged 2.7 points, 2.4 assists and 11.2 minutes in 66 games including 12 starts.

No terms were disclosed.

I can't believe nobody posted this yet! As a Timberwolf fan, I'm very happy about this move. Anthony Carter played great basketball for us last year and he earned a spot on the team. On the depth chart he'll be behind Jaric and Hudson but I think he could get a lot of playing time considering Jaric's injury problems and Casey's love for defense.

Carter brings energy, hustle, defense and un-selfishness to the club. He is like the point guard version of Mark Madsen. I would believe it would only take the veterans minimum to sign him but I have a feeling that the Timberwolves might have given him part of the $2.5 mill we have left from the MLE.

What do you guys think about this game changing move?

Matt was kidding, Rocky.

Anyways, this is a good move. Carter started a handful of games (12) and he was our best point guard last year. Now, that isn't saying much about our point guards but Carter is an underrated player. He does what he is asked and he works hard no matter what. He's a great guy and good player. I'm glad he's on the team again this year.

San Antonio should abandon all hope of a repeat.
