The Orlando Sentinial.- The Magic continue to weigh several options when it comes to adding another front-court player, but Christian Laettner definitely remains on their list of free agent possibilities. Magic Assistant General Manager Otis Smith met recently with Laettner in North Florida.

I think Laetner will stay with the Heat, cuz he wants a ring, and he wont have a chance with the magic!

Laettner is one of my 'tall white useless guys I happen to like'... so I hope he goes somewhere where he'll actually play. Actually, they should form a new team with a frontcourt trio of Vin Baker, Tom Gugliotta and Laettner showing off his versatility at SF... man... that'd kick ass.

its sad what happened to baker, always like him. even after he became worthless i continued to pull for him lol. tom was the man awhile back but laettner was always a joke imo.

Didn't Laettner win two NCAA titles with Grant Hill or something? He was a pretty good college player and his stats look alright in his Minnesota/Atlanta years.

I think after Laettner hit that shot at the buzzer, he should have just walked off the court and never come back.
In all seriousness, he was a damn good player on Minny and Atlanta.

just want to point out that i was talking about how he played in the nba. he is a solid role player but never turned out to be anything special, like he was in college.

Don't know much about him but yea , maybe he could help out the Magic in a way .

I think its just that the expectations were so high. He was high on everyones list because of that shot, and because of how well he played in college. He was still an all-star caliber player who was a pretty underrated defender.
I remember when he first came out though. He was either the 2nd or 3rd pick I can't remember, but people were saying he was a steal even there. A lot of people thought any other year he would have been a number one pick. That is of course, if it weren't for a fellow named Shaq

He is good when playing at Atlanta teaming up with Dikembe and Mookie. He was the best player there.

I think he's been lost in the shuffle in Miami and is still capable of being at least "serviceable" backing up power forward and at times centre. His best days (which weren't as bad as some people make out but didn't live up to the "next Larry Bird" expectations) are undoubtedly behind him though.
