Who will it win it? We are certainly one of the favourites, at least in theory, as we have the best starting lineup. That is what the papers and some dumbasses say. Nesterovic plays the C and he sucks. Brezec is the biggest stiff we got to play the PF, but at least he has heart. I really don't know what to think of Nachbar, but he sure can go on a hot streak. Our SG is Sani Becirovic who was definitely a legit NBA prospect before his injury and is getting back to his former self which is a great thing. At the one we have Beno Udrih, which is great

. Bench is something what we should worry about, but not too much. Jaka Lakovic is a top 3 European PG, Erazem Lorbek is a guy who'll be a decent second stringer in the NBA and we also have Marko Milic (he played for the Suns few years ago) , who was (and perhaps still is) the most explosive white guy in the Europe. Like I said, it looks good on paper, but there's just too much semi talented big egos out there to make a serious impact in the tournament. My favourites for the first three places are Serbia&MN, Croatia and Lithuania. God, I hope I'm wrong. Five NBA players and we still can't win anything?

I just had to add this: Darko had a carrer game against us - 9 points and (reportedly) 10 frikkin' blocks. Life sucks and then you die.
Sun Aug 28, 2005 5:36 pm
whoah, go Darko
I hope Croatia wins it all, do you know who is on the Croatian team?

Croatians.

The best European centre - Nikola Vujcic, Gordan Giricek, Marko Tomas, Roko Leni Ukic,... They're stacked with quality players and they've a chance to win it all.

Croatians.
Or Australians... their pick.
Lithuania is the top candidate to take the silverware to Kaunas...

go Croatia !!!
on tour in Podgorica( Montenegro) last week we had no problems with slovinans and also we have beaten Bosnia and Herzegovina and Lithuania !
We lost in final minutes of the game from Serbia and Montenegro
I have HIGH hopes for Croatia on this tour, the only problem is that the championship is in Serbia

(jebeni srbi ce nas sigurno zajebavat iz publike i radit velke probleme)
TOP 3 :
1. Serbia
2. Lithuania
3. Croatia
4. Italy or Germany
....
the good thing for Croatia is that G.Giricek is playing along with Planinic and good centres ( Vujcic, Kasun(plays in Orlando), Zizic and Bagaric( ex. NBA player) ), there are also other potential jokers ( Tomas(signed with real madrid), Popovic, Ukic,...)

Why does anybody think that Spain can do a good championship?? Of course Gasol and Lopez aren't in the roster, but there're also other fantastic players. And a very important thing: a team isn't a sum of several egocentric players.
Analysis:
Starters:
-Jose Calderon (PG): one of the best PG in Europe, a beast in defense and an great speed in the offense, recently signed with Raptors, but previously pretended by Maccabi Tel-Aviv (Eurochampion)
-Juan Carlos Navarro (SG): a pure scorer, nobody can't stop him if he's on fire, a devil from 3pt line
-Carlos Jimenez (SF): the heart of the team, a do-it-all player, doesn't seem to have played a good game in the stats, but always does the dark task. He can rebound (7'5 rpg in spanish league), score, assist,...
-Jorge Garbajosa (PF): the best PF in Europe, a 45% from 3pt, understands the game, always knows what to do in moments of mess, a nightmare for defenders
-Fran Vazquez (C): 11th in this draft, a great leaping ability, great shot blocker, and a nice scorer in low post
Bench:
-Carlos Cabezas (PG): hard worker in defense, very decent scorer and terrific when he's on fire
-Sergio Rodriguez (PG): future NBA next year probably, a different player, a Jason Williams kind, but some unexperimented
-Rudy Fernandez (SG): electric player, very thin, but very good leaping ability, and a scoring machine. Future NBA player
-Sergi Vidal (SG/SF): a bit undersized for SF, but a good role player
-Alex Mumbru (SF): a role player, with 45-50% from 3pt line
-Iker Iturbe (SF/PF): a Linas Kleiza kind of player, always plays decently
-Felipe Reyes (PF): unstoppable offensive rebounder, a bit unskilled, but very very tenacious
-Albert Miralles (PF/C): 40th in 2004 draft, a big defensive player with some 3pt abilities
-Ignacio de Miguel (C): an experimented role player, understands the game, won't score 20 points, but always getting good stats
Do you know a team in Europe so complete?? I suppose no

Isn't Marko Jacic playing in the European Championship? If so, how's he doing?
Fri Sep 02, 2005 9:11 am
-Jorge Garbajosa (PF): the best PF in Europe,

How about Scola...? Jorge is good, but is unathletic as hell...

The tourney hasn't started yet, Riot...
Fri Sep 02, 2005 9:46 am
Well, when it does keep me posted on what Jaric is doing (if he even is playing). Okay?

Scola is better low post scorer, however Garbajosa has better mid and long range %, better free throw %, and always appears in the key moments. I've seen Scola completely missing in several games. But of course I realize that Scola is a great player too

Riot wrote:Well, when it does keep me posted on what Jaric is doing (if he even is playing). Okay?

He is playing for Serbia, Jaric Bodiroga and Rakocevic will be in starting 5 for serbia, but i dont know who will be starting as center an pf.
Stojakovic aint playing
Sat Sep 03, 2005 4:28 am
I think Radmanovic at PF and Rebraca or Krstic at C
Sun Sep 11, 2005 5:34 am
Have you heard if Stojakovic isn't going to play in Eurobasket for Serbia due to problems with his coach and team mates?? I've read some of that, but I can't believe it, the Eurobasket is in Belgrade!!
Sun Sep 11, 2005 8:04 am
How come you can't beleive? What's so odd?
Sun Sep 11, 2005 8:21 am
jebeni srbi
Anyways, I'm not satisfy with NT performances in last couple of games. And I'm afraid, even with 6 NBA plazers, that we won't win EC.
sorry for not speaking english, mother language is much easier
Sun Sep 11, 2005 12:05 pm
I mean that if the Eurobasket is in Belgrade, serbian NT should be designed with the best players available, and Stojakovic is the best. That's all, guy
