Its being reported that if finley signs with a west team he will get his payment paid to him through 10 years which means less money each year. If he signs with a east time, he will get his payments normal like.

I wouldn't mind getting paid over ten years; it just forces me to spend wisely while having a long term financial security. Kinda what Shaq recently did with Miami.

And others as well... That is looking like a deep lineup... So maybe Marion, Amare and Nash won't have to play 45 minutes every night, but only 40 to get the job done with a more solid bench...
Wow! How I wish that this line-up would materialize soon!
They will be a stronger team with that line-up entering the 2005-2006 NBA season...

A possible Phoenix Suns versus Miami Heat in the 2006 NBA Finals?
Both teams are really hungry and has been very busy upgrading their roster line-ups...

Except that the Suns went out and got veteran role players who can play defense and the Heat got ballhogs who can only score

was possible this past season too since they both were #1 in their own conference.

well didn't work out for GP the last time he tried to sign with a contender for a ring...
hopefully this'll work out better for him

probably better than the la fiasco.... if the suns can add finley then they have one of the best teams in the west... they are going to be a beast and probably see a miami vs. phx in the finals

PHX and Miami finals... A bit too early to say...
All it takes is Finley to sign with Chicago and Amare or Nash down with a serious injury and that's the end of Phoenix. Miami on the other hand needs only an unhappy Walker jacking up threes and an unhappy J-Will jacking up threes and they're done for.
But Spurs losing Duncan or Detroit losing either of the Wallaces would prove to be a fatal blow.
Payton is probably signed for the veteran minimum... You can all the free agents for the minimum if you want to. You just might have a hard time getting them all to agree to a deal such as that.
Phoenix can only offer Finley the veteran minimum contract and come on... Whose expenses are over 5 million a year?!?!??!??? Finley gets 5 million a year from Dallas anyway and something like 1.2 million from the veteran minimum... If 6.2 million isn't enough to get by, well you would have to think a little about how you are squandring money and the money should last for your life and would be nice if there was enough to get your children off the floor too... 6.2 million is a lot of money and above the league average... So he's in a win-win situation... I would opt for Phoenix as they have a dire need for Finleys skill and one of his best buddies is there and they are battling for the NBA title in even a more serious way than Dallas...

hes owed 50 something million over 3yrs so it figures to about 17mil per season add the veteran's exception to that and you get 18mil per season.... i don't think he'll complain about not having enough money to feed his family like sprewell...

Depends what you mean. Enough minutes to be effective off the bench and help Phoenix? I'd say so. Enough minutes to be happy? Maybe, he's entering his twilight years in the NBA and his competitive fire would likely make the prospect of playing for a contender - even in a lesser role than he's accustomed to - very appealing.
