Great move for Pheonix, looks like a high quality bench for them now
Tue Aug 16, 2005 11:40 am
I'd dare not say HIGH quality, but it's better than they've had in previous years.
Tue Aug 16, 2005 12:16 pm
Good move, now they have filled the C spot.
Tue Aug 16, 2005 12:24 pm
nice pickup by the suns...
Tue Aug 16, 2005 12:36 pm
nice pickup but their bench is still weak. Better than last year, but still weak.
Tue Aug 16, 2005 12:46 pm
Rebounding.
That's as far as i will go.
Tue Aug 16, 2005 1:17 pm
Anther PF/C type player like Kurt Thomas. I guess they are trying to make Amare play PF as much as possible
Tue Aug 16, 2005 1:44 pm
I thought Amare was excited to be playing as a point-center? Maybe plans changed.
Tue Aug 16, 2005 1:54 pm
Well, the Suns needs small big man anyway so might as well add Grant to the Sun's rosters. Grant should provide some scoring and rebounding off the bench.

Good decision; with all they've given up (or are about to give up, assuming Johnson still goes to Atlanta), it would be one of the best moves they've made this offseason. Grant's no longer the player he was in Portland or even a few years ago in Miami, but when healthy he's solid and capable of providing rebounding and defense, which Phoenix lacks. The price is right, too.
Tue Aug 16, 2005 8:40 pm
The problem is he will never be as healthy as he was when he was in portland and miami.

excellent move by phoenix.. now they'll have someone with a cool hairstyle on their bench 48 minutes a game so their whole bench (including Mike D'Antoni) gets a +5 sex appeal bonus.. this is sure to translate to more wins off the court..
I guess Kobe will have to go back to raping women
Tue Aug 16, 2005 10:56 pm
Good move by phoenix....hopefully will add much needed D for them.
Tue Aug 16, 2005 11:15 pm
if they get Finley or retain JJ, then they'll be set. But looks like JJ is a goner.
Well they've deffinately improved their interior defense and rebounding.

So it looks like the Lakers went Shaq for Odom straight up!! HA
Brian Grant can't even jump anymore. I guess it's a good pickup but the guy should wear those braces from Forrest Gump!
Wed Aug 17, 2005 3:19 am
Actually it would be Shaq for Odom/Kwame/That SF I can't remember from Washington
Wed Aug 17, 2005 4:51 am
Wow thx about info.
He will complete their high quality bench which is really needed for them!
Wed Aug 17, 2005 6:54 am
This was an awesome move by the Suns organization. He can play PF and Center.. maybe move Marion down to SF. Or Grant might just come off the bench. Personally I thought Miami would've picked him up.

nice hair team with nash and grant.

Calm down this is Brian Grant, he's worth nothing, an "awesome move"...
Wed Aug 17, 2005 9:31 am
Haven't they signed Thomas? I thought he'd be starting at C or PF along side Amare. Which means Grant would be on the bench.

No, you calm down kid. I think it IS an awesome move.. my opinion. Did you ever watch him play when he was on the Heat? He was one of the best rebounders at the time..
Wed Aug 17, 2005 10:28 am
He was one of the best rebounders at the time..
At the time!!! Listen to yourself. He has been playing on half a knee for years since then.
I don't know what the SUns are thinking actually. Are they just giving up the run and gun all together? Thomas and Grant. Break out the wheelchairs.
Wed Aug 17, 2005 11:38 am
Back then with Miami he was just an average starter whose main quality was rebounding and got a fat contract. Now he's even worse.
I'm not saying it's a bad sign, it's just unsignificant. You assume it's an "awesome" move by the suns organization and you even say "again" an awesome move like Kurt Thomas for Q was a good one?
Please...you're wrong. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it. Let it go.
