I love Wade, but he's not better than Kobe or Tmac yet. If he can continue to do his thing this season, while improving, then yes, because it's very very close. Lebron is also right there, but he needs to have more of an impact defensively, and make the playoffs already. Lebron, Iverson and Wade would be 6,7,8, not in any particular order.

1. Shaq - his abilities outweigh (no pun intended ) the abilities of other top players by far, and his type is rare.
2. Kevin Garnett - simply a very polished player, but his spot will change in a few years
3. Amare Stoudemire - a very talented player, and extremely young compared to his contribution to his team
4. Tim Duncan - to me he's going to stay the same for a short while. Not getting any better, but not getting any worse. I would say he is in the beginning of the end after seeing him 'lead' his team in the finals, but I have to give credit for some crucial moments in other rounds of the playoffs.
5. Kobe Bryant - the only reason he's not above the forwards is because there are simply put an extreme wealth of great guards today (and also the reason why Shaq is #1).

1.) Tim Duncan - basic fundamentals, simple plays but very effective.

2.) Shaquille O'Neal - one of the most dominating force in the history of basketball. Big, strong, and fast.

3.) Kevin Garnett - all around player. Versatile and tough.

4.) Lebron James - smart player and natural born leader. Despite his young age, he's already showed his maturity to the game.

5.) Amare Stoudamire - little Shaq. Strong, quick, and versatile.


6.) Allen Iverson - Small but terrible. one of the fastest players in the NBA.
7.) Kobe Bryant - If only he will set-aside his egoistic self and play like a true team player, I'd probably rank him on one of the top 5.
8.) Tracy MacGrady - Versatile all around talented player.
9.) Dirk Nowitzki - Center with a point guard skills. Tall, quick, very good ball-handler, and has a deadly perimeter shots.
10.) Manu Ginobili - All around player and a natural leader. Give him another few years to improve more and he will be one of the great players in the NBA.

In terms of athleticism, Wade is physically better than Ginobili. But in terms of intelligince and winning championships... no question, I'd pick Ginobili over Wade.
Ginobili has: 1 Olympic Gold medal, 2 NBA Championship trophies, and considering he is still 3 or 4 years in the NBA; while Wade, he has to prove himself first (with or without Shaq).

Shaq:No reason.He's the greatest player in the league at this time.

Tim Duncan:One of the top PFs of all time.

Kobe Bryant:One of the greatest big-time players,he could be a leader.

LeBron James:Next God.

T-Mac:He is the few top SF/SG in the league.

The "foreign superstars" still don't beat out folks like Kevin Garnett & Kobe Bryant. That's just ignorance.

1- Nikoloz Tskitishvili, You don't see many 7"0 Small Forwards who can shoot do ya?
2-DeSagna Diop, this guy's weight can scare you off
3-Bruno Sundov, What can I say, i've seen him do more stuff than anyone else
4- Jamison Brewer, He is the man, that's why he's my favourite player
5- Pavel Podkolzin, i mean 7"5 !!!!!!!! C'MON!!

3 - i'll have to say, Kobe Bryant, even though I hate him, He still has a lot of talent

I know you're probably basing your entire opinion on the last Olympics, but regardless... if the USA Team was Shaq, Duncan, Garnett, Kobe, Kidd no international team would have a hope in hell of beating them. Team basketball can win you alot, but it only goes so far when you come up against guys who are as individually talented as that.

1. Duncan - absolute winner and one of the greatest PFs of all time.
2. Garnett - his versatility and heart and absolutely amazing.
3. Kobe - he's the best 1-on-1 player in the league and one of the rare ones who excels on the both ends of the court.
4. LBJ - a prototype basketball player. His D is still somewhat poor, but at 6'8''/245lbs/7' wingpsan his potential is scary.
5. Amare - like James, he doesn't play much defence, but he's unstoppable on the offensive end.

Shaq isn't his old self anymore, Iverson doesn't leave much room for his teamates to operate on the offensive end and my list will carry only one ballhog and I respect Wade, but Amare is simply more dominant.

just because manu was on a good team (chemistry and unselfishness-wise) doesn't mean he's a top 5 player. it's based on individual skill here

my list:
1. tie bet KG and TD - they can almost do just about anything in the court
3. Shaq - most dominant player in the league. not as good as before though
4. AI - can get a little selfish but he's one of the best small players and like what matthew has mentioned, his toughness can't be questioned
5. Kobe - don't like him, he's a ballhog but he's got the ability

5) Dwyane Wade- Like Kobe, he gets less credit because of having Shaq in the middle. I don't care, he's an amazing player who in just his second year already has become a superstar in the league. He's got a good head on his shoulders, too. Just like Grant Hill in the mid-90s, that's why he's so popular now.

4) Amare Stoudemire- Last year's playoffs were a coming out party for this guy. I thought he was only a dunker until I saw him knock in jumper after jumper after jumper in Duncan's eye, and then make an unbelievable block to save one game. He has no fear, and wants to be the best ever. Shaq has prophesized it already- watch out for Mr. Stoudemire.

3) LeBron James- This time next year, he'll be #1. He's going to absolutely tear up the league. IMO the best talent to come out since Shaq in 1992, and in time, maybe we'll have to revise that to MJ in 1984

2) Kevin Garnett- I don't know why the Timberwolves are wasting the prime years of one of the best talents in the history of the NBA...IMO, they should trade their entire team to get KG a quality running mate, and then sign veterans who want to compete for a title (like Gary Payton) and build up a team that way. Are they really going anywhere with Cassell, Olowokandi, Szczerbiak, Sprewell? It's better to win 1 title now and have the next 9 years be bad than be a #8 seed for the next 10 years...

1) Tim Duncan- I like KG more because he plays with more passion, but I have to put my bias aside and say that the Big Fundamental is the best right now. How can you argue with 3 rings, 3 finals MVPs, and 2 league MVPs already? He was only drafted in 1997-98!


Honorable mention: Shaq (he's on the downside of his career, but still a formidable player), Allen Iverson (amazing scorer & warrior on the court, hasn't had much help on his teams), Tracy McGrady (can do everything, but still hasn't broken through and won anything, although he showed great potential last year)
