Well I am so souped right now . just got home from my dads house . he is in a gym called LA fitness , and yea it has a basketball court. anyways i was playing ball there with a few people , and one of them looked very very familiar . we were playing ball for a while and that guy had talent superior to everyone else . He was a good shooter and would drive in every once in a while . anyways while he was leaving i finally decided to ask him his name and he just smiled and said "Delonte" . And i stared at him in awe for a good minute and said 'delonte west???" . Once again he smiled and said , yea. and then he just walked out the door . I know hes not a star or anything but im overwhelmed that i got a chance to play with an NBA player . wooohoooo
PS: i bet 70% of the people wont believe me or wont care , but i just decided to share it with everyone.

Congrats bro! Good to hear you got to play with him... reminds me of the Stockton thread where who was it? played with john.... anyways... How bad did you get snapped?
Mon Aug 08, 2005 8:11 am
what do you mean by snap ?? anyways if it means him crossing me , he never really did . but he crossed some big guy really bad. sort of like what starbury did to yao ming except the guy wasnt that tall. anyways , i found him more passive then offensive , sorta weird since i expected him to be sort of a ball hog. but instead he would dish it out more then he would shoot .he would also get mad everytime someone would mess up but he would hold it in . i would try passing over and around that big guy (i call him big guy since he was huge compared to me , about 6'9) and he was so long he stole the ball 4 times from me everytime i tried passing . anyways he gave me a couple pointers everytime i did something wrong .he was an overall nice guy.

Delonte is the shiat. Will be intresting to see him running the point this season in Boston.
I find it intresting to hear that he passes more than drives even in such situations like you describe.
Mon Aug 08, 2005 8:23 am
I guess he didnt want to be a show off or something because honestly i found it weird that he passed so much . and i also found it weird that he shot more then he drove in . but he was a pretty good shooter so i understand y he shot so much .
Mon Aug 08, 2005 8:57 am
thats awesome dude, great experience
Mon Aug 08, 2005 9:43 am
I think he was not trying to show too much, I believe he could have pwned everyone in there but didn't.
Anyways, cool thread, thanks a lot for sharing!

That's great. I'm glad you had the chance to experience that.
Mon Aug 08, 2005 1:04 pm
did you ask for his autograft...?
Mon Aug 08, 2005 1:14 pm
i didnt ask him for his autograph because i found out he was really D. West as he was leaving . and i honestly didnt want to be a pest to him .plus i didnt have anything to get autographed. one thing that i really am wondering is why he was in new jersey . does anyone know if he went to HS here or something or if he lives here , i understand we are sort of close to boston but i am wondering what he would be doing in NJ

It looks like you need to show some of your Grant Hill's move in order to beat him.

Hawking is a fuckin GENIUS, if they are both in the same room, it would be an insult to Mr. Hawking.
