He attacked me completely unprovoked... the whole thing suddenly grew, then fizzled out and I had no problem with him after that. After I responded harshly he got scared and backed down. It was nothing really, but it was example number 1.

There was a second time, I'll be fucked if I'm going through all 32 pages of his posts to find it.

The third time was the "last straw" so to speak. I don't view him as a positive contributer to the forums, and there's only so many times I'll "back down" and just let him get away with it. Lets face it, if I had responded and a flame war started you'd still be making this thread. If I had left it and not said anything, I'd feel like a door-mat.

You do realise that all of this would've blown over in a few days time, making this thread proves absolutely nothing. You found 6 or 7 instances where the mods have acted inappropriately, WOW! I was fully aware of the Egarret time since I acutally were at the forums the time it happend. As I remember it Jackal couldn't stand him because he was locking all his little flamewars thread (or whatever the reason was).
I never had any real problems with Egarret, he warned very rightfully a couple of times for some stupid things I did (inappropriate signature, flaming etc). Also a bonus: He never called me a asshole or similar which is 100% okay today for the moderators to do

Yet another lowly poster butts in.

I sent a PM to Andrew asking how the actions of the three mods Jaw, Jackal and matthew seemed to fly under the radar, even though I was very clear in that I myself had no problem at all with it (these three makes posts that I find intresting. Something very few manage). The purpose of the PM was to ask why flamewars that I thought was one sided seemed to go unnoticed, in the light of the participants being mods.

Now that I know the BoyK and Dweaver-story I understand the reason for the threads and think that the punishments were fair in BoyK's case and that Dweaver needs a enema to get all the shit out of his system.

What really puzzles me is the consistent stream of slightly coherent, ill-advised crap that Filip continues to post in this thread. Seems to be swinging his e-dick around without realizing that it might not have been so big as he thought. Just give it a rest. And lay off Andrew, his work on NLSC should be heralded as nothing short of excellent.

Now it wasn't me Jackal spoke with, but I had a few things on my mind concerning the forum that I contacted him with - and yes he treated me with uotmost indifferance and just answered my questions. Make the seperation of the poster and the mod, since they fulfill diffrent functions. Jackal/Jae/matthew/whoever has a responsibility as a mod to make the forum work without too much hindrance, but the poster Jae/Jackal/matthew should abide by the same rules as the rest of us.

And if these three should suffer penalties for flaming, then a fair share of the regular posters should aswell; me included.

Something that seems to happen alot around here is that people make assumptions on things without finding out the facts behind it first. When they do find out the facts, most of them are too... I won't say proud, but ignorant to admit that they might've been wrong. It's good that you managed to keep an open mind long enough to find out exactly what went on

I think the main problem is that people post things like "Why was Dweaver banned?!?!" and someone like, oh lets say, Filip... posts a link to a thread between Jackal and Dweaver. These people then go on thinking that's the reason for the banning, when in actual fact it's not at all.

I agree with that on every level, personally I don't think I should be immune from any punishment if people are bothered by the things I say. That being said, if someone like cyanide, or someone who is actually objective had made this thread I would've been ALOT more likely to take it all on board and change the way I act. It's just not easy to do when the person making the accusations isn't exactly squeaky clean themselves.

I called Andrew's decision of mods stupid in MSN. I wrote the his selection of mods was fucked up yesterday, I'm the same guy (or Asshole if you prefer) here as on MSN.

I think COOLmac is the only person I've seen that's this oblivious to everything. I don't know whether to be impressed or pity it.

1) I was dared to pee on a lantern pole with a cop standing next to him for a 100 euro's. I did it. I got a ticket for freely peeing & it cose me 45 Euros. I still made a profit of 55 euros.

2) I was looking at this girls boob with her bra all falling out and she disgustedly said, enjoying the show? I said two things. I stopped walking, turned around and said A) If you weren't flaunting it and actually kept your tits inside, I wouldn't be looking. B) You should be flattered I'm looking, if you were a piece of shit, I wouldn't have looked. I might be seeing her on Saturday at summer carnaval. She liked...my honesty.

3) I laughed really loudly when a saggy titted woman walked by & she asked if I thought something was funny, I told her she's quite ugly & should consider dressing differntly because that was just a disgrace of a sight.

All that was today in town. If that doesn't tell you that I'm fucked in the head, nothing much will. I am a brutally honest person and have managed to estrange family members due to the fact I am the way I am. Do I repent it? Nopes.

Oh, and just in case you folks might be wondering, yes I've been in a lot of fights because of my big mouth. My brother in law always tells me, I'll be shot for the mouth I've got.

Sorry for double posting but I said this to a respected (in my eyes) member of the forums & I'd like to share it with you guys given I think you all deserve to hear it:

Anyways, I won't go around recruiting people to post "Supports Jackal" because that's just not what this is all about. At the end of the day the whole thing is still very simple. He threatend me not once but twice when I have never made any personal threats to him. I am one who can handle himself but I refuse to let it slide twice. Once I let it slide and after the banning (due to constant provocation) I still extended my hand to say you know what, it's happened so it's happened fuck it. But Dweaver chose to not accept that hand & refused it by making another threat. I can't imagine people are willing to support him even after this. It's quite a shame to be brutally honest.

Filip is a .... for sure, this is a guy that knew both sides of the story yet chose to point out that I 'abuse' my power. I'm positive he wouldn't have accepted two threats even after extending a hand of peace. Whatever man, if folks feel that what Dweaver wasn't all that bad, so be it.

I'm going to discuss a lengthier, perhaps permanant ban of Dweaver after the second threat via E-Mail & after the fact I suggested working things out.

As for Dweaver, I know I'd support him getting a permanent ban. He didn't seem like it from the posts I read, but in light of the things you divulged in this threat - he's a fuckwit.

I am still uncertain about it given he does contribute well to the community. But after the second threat, I'm not sure how to feel anymore.

I'm glad this was made more public, as I'm sure a lot of people, including myself, didn't know the whole story. At first, I was disappointed in the banning, because I didn't think it was justified over arguments, but I didn't know the whole story, and I'm sure a lot still don't. Personally, I think DWeaver's a very good contributor on the boards, active, and an all around nice guy; however, those threats and even when Jackal offered his hand (very noble, btw), are disappointing and I would have to favor the ban. I wouldn't call for a permanent ban, as I hope DWeaver and Jackal can talk things over and come to terms, since I really respect and like both members, and it's just unfortunate that this whole thing had to come down to this. Again, the ban is justified, imo, but I really hope a reconciliation will come to, and put this behind us.

Wow, I didn't know anything about this until I recieved a link. I never though Dweaver would ever get banned out of all people. The Cosby attacks that happened earlier, I guess we were lucky that we didn't get banned. I hope Dweaver can come back though and give him a 2nd chance for whatever he did wrong in terms of pissing someone off. For him to threat people though, I never just thought of him doing that. I wouldn't say he needs a permanent ban, but like cyanide said, him and Jackal can talk things over and just laugh at this thing in the future. I'm friends with both members or e-friends, however you want to say it so I hope this thing can be fixed where everyone is happy.
