Kenyon Martin's displays continue to amaze. The former number one draft pick had 56 points and 12 rebounds and destroyed one of the league's front runners, the Miami Heat, on the way. Martin was helped by veteran shooting guard Wesley Person, who replaced Voshon Lenard on the starting spot, putting up 18 points and bringing in a fresh breeze for the team. Carmelo Anthony was given the task of guarding star guard Dwyane Wade, and he came through with flying collars, holding Wade to a mediocre 13 points.

Martin was in good mood after the game. "I've developed a good understanding with the rest of the team and most recently Jason Williams. They know exactly when to play the ball to me and what kind of a pass I need to get in a good position to score a basket. Hopefully I can score as many points in the future and help us get a good run in the playoffs."

Martin will finally get a real battle under the basket when the Nuggets go up against San Antonio and Tim Duncan in the next game.

Woah, Kobe101, that was like seconds after I posted.

But I mean, 56 points... this is not very realistic anymore and I'm playing on Superstar. I have a feeling "double team effectiveness" is going UP UP UP. Even the double can't stop Martin.

Even if that makes me lose games, I think I'm gonna do it. But I'll only rack it up by 5 or 10 to begin with.

Rrright... umm. I figured I'll post now so someone can give me some tips on how to change things. I mean this win is great, I played the game of my life but 58 points for K-Mart... just not realistic.

I still need to change double-team effectiveness and add fatigue effect to make Martin more tired. This game was a blast but it would have been more satisfying to win with a buzzer beater after a real fight.

I don't know how I got this good!!?? And it's Superstar level alright!

DENVER IN BLOWOUT WIN OVER SAN ANTONIO

Denver Nuggets performed one of the biggest surprises of the current NBA season by completely outplaying the reigning champions, San Antonio Spurs. As expected, Kenyon Martin was chosen player of the game, but unexpectedly the Spurs played Tim Duncan at center, leaving the unequipped Robert Horry to take care of K-Mart. The start of the game by Denver was electrifying, with Martin making two three-point plays with both fouls by Duncan. The Spurs had to substitute Tim, and Denver was already on a roll, and they were soon leading 6-22, and 38-69 at the half. This would only be the second defeat for the league leaders, so Tim Duncan was only brought into the game for some spare minutes. The Nuggets played easily the best basketball all season, moving the ball and performing effective pick and roll plays. Point guard Jason Williams had stayed under five assists per game for Denver, but he had nine assists in tonight's game. A win like this makes the Nuggets a good outside bet for the NBA championship.

Thanks for your support. I know it was a blowout but it's completely stupid that you can score 58 points from the low post. Even if that was my best game ever.

In the next game fatigue effect is going up so Kenyon will have to warm the bench a bit. It will affect the opponent too so maybe there will be more interesting games and matchups coming up.

I'm afraid low post is a bit too easy, then again had Duncan been on Martin it would have been a VERY different story.

I'd also like to know if there's an offensive set to get the small forward more involved. Melo always disappears in the corner.

It's been a strange day, I'm at work and I've actually had to work. I just finished my article so maybe I'll browse these forums a bit...

WILLIAMS AND PERSON DELIVER AS NUGGETS BEAT BUCKS

Denver Nuggets continued their winning streak by beating the Milwaukee Bucks last night at the Pepsi Center in Denver. The Bucks came out playing very aggressive defence, double teaming a Nuggets player at every opportunity. It worked out well at the beginning, with Denver looking like they were a step behind. However, Milwaukee did not manage to put up a lead bigger than five points, and led by only two at the half. After the first quarter, Denver didn't have a hard time keeping up and stepped up their game in the third. The double team left outside shooter Wesley Person open many times, and the veteran took full advantage scoring a season-high 24 points. Another big performer on the Denver team was Jason Williams, a recent trade acquisition from the Memphis Grizzlies. Williams controlled the game despite scoring only two points, rebounding and stealing five times and making ten assists.

"I think I've been able to speed up this team's play", said Williams after the game. "We're playing quicker basketball and running with the ball more and that's the way I like to play." Denver will be looking to extend their winning streak next week in Cleveland against the Cavs and LeBron James.

NUGGETS GET THE MAN THEY WANT, LENARD AND HODGE MOVE TO PHOENIX

Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns completed a four-man trade tonight. Denver traded two shooting guards, veteran Voshon Lenard and rookie Julius Hodge to Phoenix, while another shooter, Joe Johnson, was traded to the Nuggets along with center Jake Voskuhl.

Lenard is a long-range shooter and Hodge is a highly-rated rookie, while Johnson is expected to bring shooting as well as defence into the Nuggets game. Voskuhl is likely to be the third-choice center at Denver.

Phoenix have a 6-3 record so far this season. During the off-season they will be one of the few teams with salary cap room. They could even add to it by releasing players (Lenard and Hodge are both on their final year) during off-season in an effort to sign a big name such as Ray Allen from free agency.

DENVER EASE PAST CLEVELAND WITH GREAT TEAM EFFORT

Denver Nuggets cruised past the Cleveland Cavaliers last night at the Gund Arena in Cleveland. It was a great team effort from the Nuggets which was led by point guard Jason Williams, who made great assists to overcome aggressive double-teaming by the Cavs. Also included in the Nuggets starters was new signing Joe Johnson, who finished with 19 points with good long-range shooting despite having a quiet first half. The new backcourt has made the team much stronger, and they are now looking to make a strong run in the playoffs. With a solid frontcourt of Camby, Martin and Anthony, the Nuggets seem to have no weak links and have extended their winning streak to four. The Nuggets bench has some reliable options as well, with tiny point guard Earl Boykins, strong power forward Nene and shooter Wesley Person, who seems to have found his game, hitting outside shots like clockwork. Johnson and co. go up against Phoenix next week, which will be one of three home games coming up.

The adjustments I made for the last couple of games was that I put fatigue effect up to 52 and substitutions up to 50 although I make some substitutions my own when I feel I need to.

The biggest change was in my opponents' defence though, the Bucks and Cavs both played lots of double teams so I had to shoot from outside, which is good. Hopefully when Martin gets 58 points it will be for real. Double team effect is also up to about 60 I think..

No, the computers are just retarded. They'll never make a trade, and even if they do, it's usually a very stupid one that makes sense whatsoever.

It's a shame to see Hodge go. I've always been a fan of big versatile guards (that's why I like Jalen Rose), but I guess Joe Johnson is a pretty versatile guy himself.

about the trade thing the CPU almost never makes trades (like 5 a year) and like 5 during the whole 25 year dynasty involve draft picks. Also no one highly rated ever gets traded. The biggest trade I've seen between cpu teams in any dynasty ive played in was corey maggette for darius miles

The Denver Nuggets began their three-game stretch at home against Phoenix with a win. The Nuggets controlled the game from the tip-off until the end despite Phoenix making a strong comeback in the fourth quarter to make it just a one-point game. Denver were up against a team strengthened by two of their former players, Voshon Lenard and Julius Hodge, who were rotated at the shooting guard position, both playing decent games. Denver's Joe Johnson also went up against the team he had left just days ago. Denver will be looking to add to their win total against the LA Clippers and New Jersey Nets this week. Playing the way they are, they should have no problem in doing so.
