Who dies in this book?
Minor-ish Deaths(so far):
Amelia Bones, Emmeline Vance, Igor Karkaroff
MAJOR CHARACTERS:
Dumbledore
unconfirmed rumor (but worth mentioning) - Peter Pettigrew.
Who pairs up with who?
There aren't big details to give, except who eventually goes out with each other.
Ron and Hermione(only slightly, sadly)
Ron and Lavender (before the previous, as Lavender states interest in Ron)
Ginny and Dean
Ginny and Harry
Bill and Fleur get married
Who kills the major character that dies?
Snape.
(read on for major plot spoilers)
Draco, in order to make up for his father's failure, is ordered my Voldemort to kill Dumbledore. Since he fails, Snape steps in and finishes the job.
Who is that character that looked like a lion?
It's the new minister of magic who is named Rufus Scrimgeour.
So, who is the Half Blood Prince?
If you're sure you really want to know, here it is:
Snape.
Huh? How is he a Prince?
Apparently, his mother's last name was "Prince" which, assuming his father wasn't a "Prince", would make him a half blood of a family named Prince.

You're 12 now...?
Ok, I'm proud, I've never read any word of any Harry Potter book nor seen anything related to the movies except the trailer.

I really enjoy the Harry Potter series. I made quite a bit of fun of him & I still tend to do so. Yet, it doesn't take away from quite entertaining reading. I'm an avid reader and in this day & age, Rowling's fantasy is just a get away from the world's everyday happenings. I'll probably cop a lot of shit for saying this though. Who cares? I like the books, I enjoy the struggle & the pain this kid has gone through this early in his life.
The movies are zilch compared to the books, your own imagination is no match to what is set on film reels. I just completed the Half Blood Prince & I was very, very sad they killed Dumbledore. Yet another loss for Potter after losing his parents, his godfather & numerous others close to him.
If I'm not mistaken the next book will be the last, right? From what I've gathered, I take it they won't be returning to school for their final year. That is exactly what I was so looking forward to, the final year, the year they graduate and what not. Ofcourse I also imagined Dumbledore alive & well at the end of Harry's journey. Alas, Rowling has other plans in store for us.
I enjoyed the half blood prince, I have read all of them & I shall watch the movie that will come around November if I'm not mistaken. Oh, I will buy the next book too.
If you feel the need to make fun of me, feel free.

Jackie wrote:The movies are zilch compared to the books, your own imagination is no match to what is set on film reels.
Although I really enjoy great movies, when a book is made into a film, it has no comparison.
Sat Jul 23, 2005 10:09 am
Exactly, your imagination just makes it a lot more wonderful & I can't help be disappointed when I see the movie, it could be great, yet at parts I'll nitpick & go, but I imagined it differntly.
I always try to read the books before I watch the movies, in most cases I prefer the book but in Seabiscuit's case, the movie blew away the book, the book was filled with way too many horse facts & what not, I preferred the movie instead of a book telling me how to breed a race horse.
Although that is a rare situation.
I even preferred the Lord of the Rings books to the movies, albeit those were great on their own. I want to find the book of Narnia or whatever if I can.

Apparently, his mother's last name was "Prince" which, assuming his father wasn't a "Prince", would make him a half blood of a family named Prince.
Not quite, he's half blood because one of his parents (his mom if I'm not mistaken) wasn't of magical descent, making him a "half blood" in the magical world. So the half blood is in reference of the dad's magical descent & the Prince is referring to his mom.
Half Blood (dad) Prince (mom).
Oh, Bill & Fleur haven't gotten married just yet, the wedding is planned, it hasn't gone through yet.
