Well, if you're thinking of getting a computer, might as well get something cheaper, say in the mid-2000 range. Because, really, if you're going to spend ten grand on a top notch state of the art computer, that same thing is going to be five grand in a couple months.

Eh don't waste it on materialistic things. You're in a unique position where you've got a large sum of money to invest with. Most people just got a bit of money, put it to the side every now and then and hope for the best. You on the other hand, you can put it in some low risk bond, bank stocks, real estate, whatever... put it somewhere. You don't need to spend the money at this age... Think about what's better. Spending it now and play video games for like 5 years, get tired of it, and then work until you're 65. OR, invest it, work for a bit, then retire at 40... Retirement at an age where you can actually enjoy life sounds nice.

I agree with Cyanide. Spending all of it on a high-end computer just isn't worth it. Sooner or later it'll be "crap" before you know it. You don't really need a super-duper crazy ass computer. Just get one that's reliable and has the specs to run most games.
