We knew it would happen.

Flip anyone?

Tue Jul 19, 2005 4:43 am

Meh...i dont like detroit anyway...i'd be happy if he went with the knicks or cavs. I dont see pisstons winning another championship.

Darko and Carlos are having a party somewhere right now...

Pretty controversial character, one either loves LB or hates him... kinda like me, which why I love the guy.

Detroit lost the 'Best Team in the East' status with Brown gone.

Now you can bet that Riley is coming back to coach the Heat.

I was going to post this thread, but TFK beat me to it :) Brown's gone, but I think Flip would fit in nicely. I don't know if they'll make it to the post-season again, but they have experience, and so does Saunders. Let's see how they mesh.

Edit: Finals, not post-season

Im split on this, I was happy when Larry focused on coaching and trying to win like last year but this season came around and all Larry's bullshit baggage came out. The Knicks want Larry and larry just has to talk to Isiah. The Cavs want Larry and Larry is gonna go public with it and beat around the bush, hinting at all of this.

Most likley Flip Saunders is gonna come coach over here and i like flip but im sure T-Wolves fans can relate to this more then me but if you look in Larry Browns eyes in a game 7 you see confidence, if you look in FLip Saunders eyes in a game 7 you see a scared, nervous coach...

if by post-season you meant finals, I agree. But if you meant playoffs, I think the Pistons are definitely in with the starting 5 they have, even if their mascot i sthe next coach. (Y)

I think you had to let him go. Just way to much direspect taking meetings durng the playoffs. I think this is exactly what LB wanted. To be bought out not quit so he still gets his money. He made them fire him.

I hate the guy.

Detroit and Joe Dumars knew what they were getting with Larry Brown. He's a HOF coach, but he pulled this sh!t his whole career. And he'll keep doing it until his retirement.

I'm dancing for joy :D

So you respect the one who beat you... That's the first step towards de-homering yourself... hehe.

I'm dancing for joy because Detroit isn't even on our level anymore. LB kept that team together, next year they are going to fall. Hard.

... on the pacers' heads in the playoffs? maybe, maybe...

I'd be surprised if the Pistons got any higher then 3rd place in the Central division this year. Both the Pacers and the Bulls will finish higher, the Pistons may get the 5 or 6 seed and lose in the first round.

That's taking it too far. As I said before, given the Pistons' cohesion as a team, they could go coachless and still challenge for the ring. And then lose to Spurs.

Um.. No, you aren't realizing that their cohesion WAS Larry Brown. Now the glue is gone, and the other parts will fall apart.

Oh man Weaver, how many times have we had these back and forths about the Pacers/Pistons??

Hey, I'm with you, I like teh Pacers more than the Pistons, but I try to keep it real... Let's see how things work out next yearm shall we?

And maybe by that time I will have fixed my 'teh' problem...

Damn you, GOAT!!!

Tue Jul 19, 2005 8:27 am

Obviously next year will speak for itself, but I understand why people don't realize that the Pacers are going to be as good as they will be, they just don't watch them as much as I do. They don't see the sleeping Giant that will finally be awakened next year.

I can't wait. :D

Tue Jul 19, 2005 9:19 am

I think we try to downplay the Pacers a bit, because your bias for the Pacers makes it seem like there's about eighteen Pacer fans on the boards throwing propaganda about how they're going to beat the Bulls regular season win record and sweeping the NBA Finals.

Whoo ! My boy Darko will shine in D-town now

Tue Jul 19, 2005 10:56 am

yep darko's gonna finally get time. Hopefully, he will reach his full potential with brown out and hopefully his career will look more like alonzo mourning's (#2 pick in 92) than sam bowie's (no explanation needed)

Tue Jul 19, 2005 1:08 pm

pretty much expected...I liked how he coached but his lack of loyalty and benching of his rooks leave a lot to be desired

Tue Jul 19, 2005 2:07 pm

thank goodness this finally is fucking over

But didn't Detroit show a lack of loyalty to Rick Carlisle? I call it poetic justice.

I beleive the Knicks have a head coach now. No disrepect to the Herb but Larry just brings the spark the Knicks need.
