Sat Jul 09, 2005 1:49 pm

Bobby Simmons has reportedly signed a 5 year 47 mil deal with the Bucks.

I think its a great move for the bucks, very bad news for the Clippers.

very good for the bucks , they are getting stronger and stronger.

Good move by Bucks. Simmons can really provide some scoring off the bench along with Toni Kukoc when Redd, Mason and Bogut are resting. I think the Bucks have a good chance of making to the 2006 playoffs.

I think this is amazing that the Clippers weren't able to lure Simmons back especially since he was coming off his best season. Poor Clippers, can't do anything right  Good for the Bucks though, they are having a good off-season so far by drafting Bogut, resigning Redd and now getting Simmons.

Great move by Milwaukee... they are forming a good squad!

Great move by Bucks but they are already good at that position. They got Mason and Redd at that position. Will he get enough minutes behind them ?

Sat Jul 09, 2005 7:26 pm

i think Redd will primarily play SG. So either they'll start Mason or Simmons, and i think the minutes between Mason and Simmons will be spread almost evenly. So now, how much does the Bucks have in cap after siging Bogut/Redd/Simmons? do they still have some money for a back up PG?

I don't think they need to sign any more PG because they already got TJ Ford and Maurice Williams.

Simmons is a natural SF, has very long arms and - if I remember correctly - is 6'8'' with shoes.

He's still listed at 6' 6" though... The Bucks' depth chart is very good now:

C - Bogut/Gadzuric/Pachulia

PF - Smith/Kucok/Pachulia

SF - Mason/Simmons/Kukoc

SG - Redd/Welsch/Simmons/Strickland

PG - TJ Ford/Mo Williams/Strickland.

Really deep roster... let's hope Joey Smith holds up...

sucks for the clips...their players always leave...except for a certain few of course.

the bucks are looking pretty good on paper

Sat Jul 09, 2005 10:34 pm

Nice, looking forward to see them play :)

Sat Jul 09, 2005 11:45 pm

i guess its a good signing, i dont know why they would bring back kukoc. But they really need help at the PF, i have no idea how much they have left to spend, but there are some PF's out there they could maybe grab. Joe Smith isnt that great.

PF - Smith/Kucok/Pachulia

Kukoc is a free agent isn't he? I heard he isn't happy with the Bucks either.

Sun Jul 10, 2005 2:04 am

The Bucks have a really decent team right now (Y)

Sun Jul 10, 2005 2:10 am

This is a pretty big pickup for the Bucks... I'm surprised.

Sun Jul 10, 2005 2:34 am

Good for Bobby, Clippers are trying to maximize profit so i doubt they would want to pay him that much.

Sun Jul 10, 2005 4:36 am

All I have to say is watch out for the Bucks next season. I say they make the play-offs. (Y)

Sun Jul 10, 2005 4:40 am

They're looking good on paper, but I still think they lack the big man position. Bogut is still inexperienced and raw, and power forwards aren't comparably great compared to other teams.

Sun Jul 10, 2005 4:42 am

Yeah that could hurt them.

Sun Jul 10, 2005 5:09 am

They're looking good on paper, but Bogut could use some help inside.

Sun Jul 10, 2005 6:33 am

I'm schocked to say the least  what it looks like is:

1. They re-signed their all-star shooting guard Michael Redd
2. And now another coveted SF/SG FA in Bobby Simmons
3. And let's not forget they still got the #1 pick overall in Bogut, however he could turn out being a bust, e.g Joe Smith, a former #1 pick which by the way is in the Bucks roster :)

That's exactly the same thing I had said  I don't think it should matter about Bogut mainly because he is the no.1 pick and he will start and they are in the Eastern Conference. There shouldn't be no question that he would most likely put up decent numbers, its not like he is a Darko Milicic type of player. Joe Smith is still a pretty solid player and if they can resign Gadzuric, they will be in good shape because maybe they can go big and put Gadzuric at PF so Bogut really doesn't need anymore help because they got some solid F/C's. They also have Desmond Mason off the bench which will make things even better along with TJ Ford coming back and with the progress of Maurice Williams from last season, the Bucks are on their way to the playoffs, the question is will they be good enough to win their division which I think is a definitely no

Sun Jul 10, 2005 10:21 am

Now all they need are new uniforms.
