Are you kidding? His lyrics are crazy good man, he's very creative and raps about a variety of things and not too much gangster stuff going on.

Sometimes he has some wack rhymes in songs to fill up the full 2-3 minutes so he's not constantly good but I don't agree with your statement/opinion in any way.

ps. I want to see you come up with better lyrics than Kanye...

Jae, very funny :? , we know who are the haters by now...
I meant he should make up something better by himself.

Matt: don't come up with the "Kanye has a ghost writer article" because I've seen him freestyle on Rap City. I'm open to anything else

Kanye West is probably one of the most overated rappers right now.

I can't fucking stand him.

Pff. Kanye West, I agree with skins, he's really overrated. (For some reason he reminds me of 50 Cent)
No Kanye West for me; I'll just stick to The Pharcyde... 8-)

I don't really care about how much recognition Kanye West gets, I just listen to the music that I like and his is.

 I don't get it you know, anyone that gets a lot of attention is suddenly no good to you folks.

If Nas was plastered all over MTV, you folks would say he sucks. Hehe, it just amuses me.

That's exactly what it seems like. I guess its the more the rappers on TV, the more their rap is weak  Alot of rappers they mention, you rarely see on TV most of the time, but as we discussed before, its all about the style of rap they like I guess. I don't see what makes Kanye's lyrics so average. Whenever I hear him rap and the beats he use, they aren't very average. He is helping Common with his new album and I'm pretty sure most of you like Common.

Kanye is a good producer and I like his sound (even though he's a little too similar to that other guy from Chi-town, Jay-Dee?)

And Hate Me Now was produced by Pretty Boy, D. Moet, and Poke & Tone. According to the liner notes, without samples. There's that Nas & Rakim compilation album some DJ put together which uses that beat for the intro. It sounds sick with the Paid In Full era samples of Rakim saying "Rakim Allah", "Pump up the volume", "and you know that I'm the soloist"

Ah, jsut put it on. Fantastic. Then when it breaks down just before the first verse is on teh actual song it's got "I'm the N, the A, to the S-I-R" Beautiful...

Rakim is pretty good, he has a song on the 8 Mile sound-track and I dug it. I got another song of his awhile back and liked it too, is his album out and is it worth it? I don't mean a compilation, just his own album?

Everyone loves Kanye. It's because he keeps it real, he reminds me of myself. I'm black and I'm not the fancy type, and I don't wear fitteds and shit.

Nas is sort of mainstream if you think about it.

Hmm, thats interesting, I didn't know you was black. DAMN

Oh well, I consider Kanye different with his style as far as music goes and clothes. He is the person that got most people wearing loud colored polo shirts especially people that probably never wore polo shirts in their life

Nas is not mainstream. He was for a little while in 1999. But since then he hasn't been making songs just to burn up the charts. His singles have been good songs, some with a good message (I Can). But to all you people who give us that 'you don't like anyone mainstream' bs, I listen to Kanye. I listen to some Fabolous, I listen to a little Diddy. That ain't anything.

And Kanye isn't 'keeping it real' he's made songs with that gotta hustle to survive message which is dumb since he's from the suburbs and went to college without a scholarship for sports or anything (he never played on the basketball team. ) He had enough money to get by on.

Well why when he was accepting an award for something last year and he was saying how just this time last year, he was at living with his mom and all that. Where did you find out that he had all this money and everything?

Because he was in college.

Logic tells me if you can afford to go to college you don't need to 'hustle' just to get by.

NAS isn't mainstream? the only reason I even know he still exists is because his video's are on pop shows like Video Hits everytime he releases a song.

mainstream rappers are sellouts, all they want is money thats why they make shitty radio songs....Nas isn't mainstream but he still has a huge fan base.

^^How about Bridging the gap?
I like Nas a little bit too, but you can't deny that he's mainstream.

That's what I hate so much about the most people who listen to hiphop, they're all trying to listen to underground rappers and not the wellknown guys. But WTF, THE BIGGEST NAMES IN THE RAP GAME ARE BIG FOR A REASON. I have to agree though, once they've had some success they start to make more commercial stuff usually, but that's not the point.

You are saying Kanye isn´t keeping it real and stuff like that but you are the rich white kids listening to some thug or something like that and that's ok?
Saying rappers have wack rhymes and aren´t real gangsters and stuff like that while you're sitting behind your own pc with probably DSL and having other expensive stuff like that...

ps. You can´t go to college if you're really poor but you don't to be rich either. Most people lend money to pay college and are hoping to get a good job afterwards to pay the money backl

I wasn't saying that Kanye sucks caus he is recognised, but most people would have to agree that what the media and various people are saying is bullshit...

Everyone is basically saying that Kanye is the only rapper in the world whose lyrics have meaning, and that it's the rebirth of hip hop
