Diogu and his 7'4" wingspan is good enough for me though i'd still prefer Felton...

damn, 5 pages on the Lakers' offseason plans....

you don't really need 5 pages to know that come opening day next season, Chucky Atkins will still be the team's starting PG

No way! I don't want Boozer in Lakers! Tyson Chandler would be an awesome signing. But I'd like to see Peja and Doug Christie in Lakers. Doug Christie ist pretty old yet, but also awesome defenseman and person too, and he'd help Lakers from the bench. But before anything Lakers need decent POINT GUARD.

wow! we now have arguably 3 of the best 5 players in the NBA just as other players now

Best for what? Making And1 mixtapes?

I thought the Best Players are defined, ipso facto, by beating every other player in a tournament called the NBA Playoffs.

Oddly, out of all the hundreds of fancy dribbling, thee point hoisting, 360 dunking players in the NBA, the only ones left standing are completely old-school teams based on very fundamental basketball. You're not going to see a fancy dunk out of either team.

I guess best is relative, for me "best" means winning.

I can tell already, your a Tim Duncan fan (Y)

P.S I hope the Lakers take Nate Robinson somewhere in the draft!!

I don't know I'm not on the team... regardless, Diogu isn't the only (or even the best) back to the basket player in the draft.

I think the KG trade is more realistic than the Boozer trade considering KG is pissed at how crap Minnesota went and Boozer was productive for Utah.

If they got KG for L Odom and D George and a future pick and drafted a PG they'd be just fine

Wow, you saying a super star won't come to LA? You've got Jackson signed up and all?

Seriously, when is Yao coming to town?

in all seriousness, Lakers should just worry about finding a starting PG, moving one of their SF's to help shore up another position, and adding a young talent or two....if the Lakers get that done then they should be able to get back into the playoff picture, provided Kobe stays healthy....

at the moment, they'll probably just end up with someone like Sean May and still have Chucky Atkins starting at PG

They missed the boat when Andre Barrett was a FA. When he got a chance in Orlando he was really impressive.

didn't the Rockets have Barrett earlier in the season? and wasn't he going well? then why did the PG-soft Rockets waive him?

I heard over at LakersGround.net that Mitch offered Butler for Nene and got turned down. BTW, nice try.

 yep, Mitch Kupchak has to give up more than Butler to get a quality bigman like Nene....he would solve a lot of the Lakers' problems....I doubt the Nuggets would want to help out a Western Conference foe like that either....

but do you think he will be the best 'back to the basket player' left when it's the lakers turn to pick?

Ill take Diogu over Boozer's monster salary anyday.

At 10 he would probably be the best back to the basket player available. Although Andrew Bynum sounds really interesting. I dont know much about the kid but i've read that he's an Eddu Curry type of player. Can anyone fill me in about Bynum? Is he worth the 10th pick?

KG to LA?

Kiki refused to give up Nene for Kenyon Martin, hard to believe he would give him up for Butler.

Kiki's plan is/was to concentrate his resources on creating a frontcourt lineup for Denver...he isn't going guard-based. You can sort of tell by Denver's roster...his better guards are passers.

Ahh the Lakers will get another superstar. Do you reallly think the NBA will allow these ratings to continue? Just like they didn't allow the Knicks to draft Ewing.

If D-Stern really manipulated everybody like puppets behind the scenes, wouldn't it have been easier to just keep Shaq in LA? Or at least force the D-Wade to LA trade, which was the initial proposal to Miami for Shaq.
