Were down 2-0, but we can still win it
Dude, you can't say we if they aren't even your favorite team...

3 games down, 1 to go.
Shaq will be needed next round so they better sweep them to give him his rest.

wade is a fukin beast
Fri May 13, 2005 3:30 pm
Miami is really lucky they got Alonzo Mourning though because Doleac starting at center would definately not have had the same effect. How good is Wade? He had a masssive amount of turnovers in the first half, but he just played so well, and he basically had all of the teams turnovers anyways

.
Then again, how good is Arenas? 14 assists, 20 points, and though he didn't shoot too well, he had a great game today. Took too many three's though which was not a good thing. The Wizards played well, but really they just couldn't get it down defensively. The offense was fine, Dixon gave a big performance, so did Haywood, and Jamison and Hughes played very well, but the defense wasn't there for the whole game. They made some great defensive plays, but just couldn't hold it together for the whole 48 minutes defensively.

i didn't like the wiz shot selection late in the 4th, but hey, it's the wiz
i guess wade's TO's are his achilles tendon. but man, he hit the shots when they needed them most. haslem giving a helping hand too. he was quite 'foster-esque'
Fri May 13, 2005 3:38 pm
Well it seems Alonzo Mourning is suddenly the 2nd best center in the league...Ok, maybe that's an exaggeration, but he is certainly quite impressive nowadays. He plays with a passion greater than anyone else in the league. I wouldn't be surprised because basically he was given another chance at life. Go Mourning!

I don't even complain about that anymore, it's expected. Your down 4, so what do you do? Go down the court twice and jack up three's then get down 6. Though Hughes that time then hit a three and got them down 3, it's just so stupid. Why not cut the lead down slowly and actually get some points.

when did Shaq get injured?
Fri May 13, 2005 5:32 pm
Zo has been outstanding since returning home to Miami, you can tell by his energy and his determination that he is serious and not just trying to ride the Shaq wave of success he is working his ass off for the Heat. It's good to see the big man back home.
Miami are clicking as a team if one player isn't doing so well or injured another player will step up and it doesn't even have to be an all-star player who steps up, even the bench players are having big moments in games. Take for example:
Kenyon Dooling 1st round leader in fg% with 70% continues to shoot well.
Eddie & Damon Jones have been solid from 3pt line even with Damon having foot injury by shooting around 50% from 3pt line.
Haslem probably 1 of the most underrated guys solid rebounder & hustler always putting his body on the line.
Rasual Butler hadn't had too much playoff time but put up some big shots in game 1 against the Wizards in short minutes.
Alonzo Mourning has been a solid force on the defensive end and has some inspiring offensive production moments like game 2 against the nets like game 3 against the nets double OT where he grabbed that last rebound, like game 1 against the wizards where he blocked Gilbert Arenas when he was going for the dunk after the steal and like today in game 3 stepping up taking Shaqs spot with the Diesel on the bench resting his injury.
Eddie jones again has been solid and consistant he has been taking big shots has had a defensive presence like shutting Vince Carter down in the 1st round series. 3 games where hes hit 5 3pt shots a game. Has shot the ball at around 50% and has kept his oponents to around 40-45%. He has stepped up as a team captain and has emerged himself as 1 of the top 3 options not just the 3rd option for the team.
Wade 1 of the most exciting 2nd year players this year has matured in his game. his only weakness is his turnovers and I guess 3pt shooting not that he takes too many 3pt shots. He has dominated the playoffs with big numbers and big plays while still being unselfish.
Shaq has been injured but still has been a key factor by forcing teams to play tough and double even triple team him, inwhich he finds his open team mate for the open shot.
that right there is a championship quality team, with players filling their roles playing as a team not as a bunch of highly paid rich pricks trying to take all the shots and egos clashing all the time. This is what I luv about Miami they play as a team and as 'brothers' in a family sense of meaning.

May 14th Math lesson:
series = over
wade =

(42 pts [13-22][16-17], 7 reb, 4 ast)
shaq = not needed
heat = waiting for next victim
heat > eastern conference
Sun May 15, 2005 1:40 pm
HOLY CRAP that last minute was a heart stopper with Eddie hitting that huge 3 then Zo's block and then wade finishing it with 2 free throws.
Well done Miami 2 sweepages in a row and now off to the Conference Finals.
Hopefully Shaq will be right to play in that series.
Sun May 15, 2005 2:21 pm
I thought the Wizards would take one, but after the Game 3 victory without Shaq it seemed the sweep was inevitable. The final result of this one could have been a lot worse, kudos to the Wiz for refusing to give in. History was certainly against a comeback; they became the 76th team to go down 0-3 in a playoff series, and not one of the previous 75 teams had come back to win the series.
Sun May 15, 2005 2:45 pm
Wade was awesome.. that guy is relentless. He just slashes and doesn't know when to stop moving. He's got amazing bursts of energy - something that Christian Laettner could learn from
Sun May 15, 2005 3:06 pm
the great thing about wade is he doesn't even need 3s. he just takes it to the hole and gets fouled, if he develops a 3pt shot he will be even more dangerous
Sun May 15, 2005 3:41 pm
Yay!!! Miami is in the Eastern Conference Finals!!!
WHO'S NEXT!!!
Sun May 15, 2005 3:51 pm
don't get too confident. Heat can be beaten. They haven't even played anyone of significance yet. They'll face a superior defensive team in the next round, with a more balanced attack then the 1-2-3 punch they faced in rnd 1 & 2.
Sun May 15, 2005 5:01 pm
Wade going for 22 points on 7/7 from the field in the 3rd Q was just sick

he's turning into a monster...
Sun May 15, 2005 5:35 pm
he already is.....SUPERSTAR!!!!!!!!!! He's probably a future MVP
Sun May 15, 2005 6:45 pm
I better not have seen some Christian Laettner hating going on in this thread
Sun May 15, 2005 6:52 pm
i saw someone bashing Laettner....some acount deleting is necessary round here
btw this simley

looks constipated

That's one of the reasons I brought back the angry emoticon from the old forum (:furious:). I'd like to see an increased use of the Mr T one though.
Sun May 15, 2005 7:58 pm
hopefully Pacers and Pistons can go for game 7 to decide the winner.
So Heat can have more time to rest.
