I made this thread cause there are a lot of other PO threads going on, but we Miami fans don't have one to discuss the greatest team in the NBA.
Tough break for the Nets, for playing against us, but that's just the way it is!!
Good sweep though, the team can have a week or so off so they can rest, specially the Diesel.
Who do you think Miami will play in the second round?? Will it be one of the greatest backcourts in the league?? Or this year's Rookie Revelation Team???

the greatest team in the NBA.

I think it's going to be Washington you guys are going to go up against . Chicago just can't seem to cut it playing in DC and I have a feeling Wiz are going to win game 5. So...

Whether it's Chicago or Washington, I feel safe in predicting the Heat will advance with the series going a maximum of five games. The Bulls or Wizards will probably take at least one home game from Miami but no more than that.

I hate bandwagoners. I used to be the only Piston fan on these forums and no they're everywhere. Same with Phoenix & Miami 'fans'. Practically none before, they everywhere now.

Hello Heat fans! Just dropping into say that you don't need to worry about the next round... focus on the ECF!

What do you know about the background of the so-called Miami "fans"??
You say we are everywhere now, I can only think of myself right now.
I lived 2 years of my life in that city and I support the team for that reason and probably much longer than you think.
So if you think I'm a Shaq-crazed, ignorant bandwagoner, think again.

It wasn't personally against.
He is very right though, Miami and Phoenix fans are everywhere now all of a sudden this season and where are the Lakers fans? Where o where?
This is not personal again, but most of the time you call someone a bandwagoner when they really are one, they start defending themselves.
"I just didn't have a signature supporting my team back then"
"I've been a fan since [insert previous seasons they were bandwagon teams]."

ceekay is now my favourite board member, even though he's a Knicks fan

. The way he calls out the hundreds of phonies on this board is great! Keep it up!

I quoted Matt, but anyways, if you say it's not personal I absolutely believe you so I do not mind you saying that bandwagoners suck.
I personally don't like bandwagoners cause they change team constantly depending on the results of the team, something that is VERY, VERY hated in my country, specially in soccer.
But if you really HATE em, like Matt does, just don't pay attention to em, I try to do that.

I also think there are alot of bandwagoners for the Heat. I can't say everybody is one, but I remember seeing alot of Laker avators and sigs last season and all of a sudden that has changed. Now I'm seeing more Heat avators and sigs on the forum.
Thu May 05, 2005 11:08 am
its whats in now that counts, can't expect people to keep the same old stuff like a Gary Payton Laker avatar.
anyway, im still the same, no avatar or sig :p ( im just too lazy i guess)

Definitley. I think Jonas a true fan, but even Pistons fans are better then bandwagoners

.
I seriously could not in a million years imagine changing my team. Its like the most ridiculous thing for me to picture me not bleeding blue and gold.
Thu May 05, 2005 12:58 pm
I still like the Heat, but I liked them a lot more last season, it's not anything against the new players or anything, but I liked them more last season. I'll have to be rooting for the Wizards if they make it on though obviously, but if the Heat take the series, which I do expect them to, I will cheer for them the rest of the way.

Sounds like a serious medical problem, you might want to get that checked out.
Tremendously lame jokes aside, I agree. It isn't easy or a lot of fun to support a team during a low period, but it's that much sweeter when they finally become a respectable team again.
Thu May 05, 2005 2:58 pm
It was especially fun rooting for Miami last year. They were the underdogs!
Thu May 05, 2005 3:54 pm
we might actually see some GSW fans next season.
Where did the Orlando fans go as well? I swear people loved Orlando but now nobody gives a rats ass.
Thu May 05, 2005 4:03 pm
Orlando had a feel-good story going on earlier in the season with the team seemingly headed for the post season and Grant Hill playing better than expected. With their late season collapse, more than a few fans have probably leapt from the bandwagon. Then again, at this time of the year there's not a great deal to talk about when it comes to teams not in the postseason.

Nuggets have got bandwagoned too.....Im just bandwagoning them mostly cause of Dre
I dunno I find it hard to support one franchise fully....but Spurs and Knicks are prolly two teams Ive always "been with".
Man I miss the days of Ewing, LJ, Charlie, Spree and Houston....

I can't wait until the Grizzlies just go off one season and have a chance at a championship. Maybe some more members will join the team fan-base

In previous years, it was not THAT fun, cause we were not THAT good.
I was even hesitant about what to think when Shaq came, I thought we were building a nice team with Lamar, Butler and Wade in 4 more years, but now I see how wrong I was...
But like Indy said, you cannot CHANGE TEAMS!!
In my country, changing teams is the worst thing you can do, esp. because we mostly support our team according to the place we live.
In the US, people generally support the their hometown team, or it is not an "unwritten rule" like in here??

Washington just beat Chi-town in a close game, a wonderful last play by Jared Jeffries as he stole an inbounds pass that bounced of Pargo's back.
Miami's got a nice challenge ahead by facing the Wizards, but I'm sure we can get them in 5 or 6 games!!
GO HEAT!!!!
EDIT: It was Duhon's back...
