Nah, I don't like simming.

I would have posted more box scores and pics for games I didn't review, but pics I had didn't fit with what else I was posting and I forgot to save the box scores a bunch of times.

PLAYOFF PREVIEW

Playoff Brackets
Image

Playoff History

New York Knicks vs. Chicago Bulls

The Knicks got swept by the New Jersey Nets 4 games to none in the first round of the Playoffs last year, while the Bulls did not even make the Playoffs

1989: Chicago Bulls defeat the New York Knicks in the conference semifinals.

1991: Chicago Bulls defeat the New York Knicks in the first round of the playoffs.

1992: The defending NBA Champion Chicago Bulls defeat the New York Knicks 4 games to 3 in the conference semifinals.

1993: The New York Knicks finish 60-22 (a record indentical to their current one), but the Chicago Bulls defeat the New York Knicks 4 games to 2 in the Eastern Conference Finals, after the Knicks had started the series off with a two-game lead.

1994: New York Knicks defeat the Jordan-less Chicago Bulls 4 games to 3 in the conference semifinals.

1996: Chicago Bulls defeat the New York Knicks 4 games to 1 in the conference semifinals.

Bulls won 5 out of 6 of the teams Playoff match-ups.

Playoff Experience

It's been 9 years since the last time these two teams met in the NBA Playoffs. But these two teams are completely different. There is no Michael Jordan or Patrick Ewing. There is one Knick, however, that remains. The Knicks reacquired PG Charlie Ward back from Atlanta in February before the trading deadline. Ward gives the Knicks leadership (this is his 12th year in the league) and experience (Ward was on the 1999 team that went to the NBA Finals).

Mehmet Okur: Finals
Kevin Garnett: Conference Finals
Kyle Korver: none
Baron Davis: Conference Semifinals
Gilbert Arenas: none
Chris Mihm: none
Vladamir Radmanovic: First Round
Charlie Ward: Finals
Steve Smith: Finals
Samaki Walker: Finals
Casey Jacobsen: First Round

Ben Wallace: Finals
Shareef Abdur-Rahim: none
Tim Thomas: First Round
Allan Houston: Finals
Eric Snow: Finals
J.R. Smith: none
Andrew DeClercq: First Round
Kris Humphries: none

Knicks
Finals: 4
Conference Finals: 1
Conference Semifinals: 1
First Round: 2
None: 3

Pistons
Finals: 3
Conference Finals: 0
Conference Semifinals: 0
First Round: 2
None: 3

Both teams have players that have gone as deep as the NBA Finals, and each has at least one that has actually won the entire thing. Knicks' Mehmet Okur(with Detroit) and Steve Smith(with San Antonio) and Bulls' Ben Wallace(with Detroit). The experience of Chicago's backcourt Allan Houston and Eric Snow should help the Bulls match-up against the Knicks' outstanding backcourt of Baron Davis and Gilbert Arenas, who will be on his first trip to the NBA Playoffs.

Season Series

Saturday, January 15: Knicks defeat the Bulls (1-0) @ The United Center
Monday, January 17: Knicks defeat the Bulls (2-0) @ Madison Square Garden
Friday, April 8: Bulls defeat the Knicks (2-1) @ Madison Square Garden
Tuesday, April 19: Knicks defeat the Bulls (3-1) @ The United Center

Knicks won the season series 3 games to 1.

New York Knicks have the best record in the league (62-20) and have won seven straight going into the Playoffs.

But the last team to beat them was the Chicago Bulls (42-40), and they did it at Madison Square Garden.

Knicks bulldoze the Bulls!

The Big Ticket was BIG for the Knicks, scoring 42 points and pulling down 14 rebounds.

The Bulls high man was Tim Thomas with 24.

Knicks lead pretty much all the way and the Bulls seemed unable to stop them. Bad news for Bulls fans.

Kevin Garnett was a nightmare for Shareef Abdur-Rahim, starting the series off with a very strong 42 points.

Knicks take a 1-0 series lead. Game two will be back in the Garden. Games three and four will be in Chicago. Game five (if necessary) will be in New York City, game six (if necessary) in Chi-Town, and game seven (if necessary) will be back in MSG.

Baron Davis Injured.

1 minutes 50 seconds into the game, Knicks All-Star point guard Baron Davis suffered a leg injury and had to be helped off the court(pictured) by teammates Vladimir Radmanovic(left) and Kevin Garnett(right).

The Bulls Allan Houston also suffered an injury, but nothing serious as he was able to quickly return to the game.

Baron Davis was eventually able to return to the game, but Coach Wilkens limited his minutes as a precaution. The Knicks cannot afford Davis to be out with a serious injury if they hope to make a strong run in the Playoffs. Baron Davis finished playing only 5 minutes.

Kevin Garnett had another big game, scoring 38 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.

Former Knick and current Bull SF Tim Thomas had 40 points in the losing effort.

Knicks go two up on the Bulls heading into Game 3 Wednesday night at The United Center. Games three and four will be in Chicago. Game five (if necessary) will be in New York City, game six (if necessary) in Chi-Town, and game seven (if necessary) will be back in MSG.

Thanks. I'm screwed if Baron Davis isn't healthy for the next round. So I played him very little game 2. Semis, we will be faced off against the 4 vs. 5 winner and if Pistons win that, I wasn't able to beat the Pistons at all during the season with everyone healthy. So I'm hoping Cleveland wins.

The injury's nothing serious. He can play, but not too many minutes at a time or itl'll be risking a worse injury.

Charlie Ward's the back-up point. But he's not so good, so I don't play him too much. Only in garbage time..

But what I do do is switch Arenas back over to the point. (I usually share the role of point between he and Baron depending on match-ups) and play Steve Smith and Casey Jacobsen off the bench at the shooting guard. They give me more size and both can hit the 3.

Or I'll go big and play KG and Rad at the forwards, Korver at the shooting guard, and Arenas the point.

Game 2 I started KG at Center, Rad at PF, Korver SF, Baron at SG, and Arenas at point. And then I had Jacobsen or Smith come off the bench to replace Baron at SG. That's my 3-pt shooting lineup. It's a lot better with Baron there.
