What's up with Caron Butler?

He has been the man for the last few games, how good will he become next season?

He could turn out to be a great second option behind Kobe. He's an effective finisher whether he's receiving the pass or taking the ball to the basket himself and he's a fine defensive player.

I remember people saying Caron Butler had hit his roof and stuff like that. Whenever I watch him get the ball, he dribbles, shoots about an 18 foot jumper, and all I see is swish. Also with Odom out he plays more. I think he can easily score 20 ppg, most of the time he does it I don't even notice it, he just plays his game, and scores when they actually give him the ball. I think he has a VERY VERY GOOD midrange jumper. He's an 86% foul shooter, he used to be around 90. Also as Andrew said he has great defense, a lot of times he can intercept passes and get a nice dunk. Theres also that time he scored 20 points in the 1st quarter.

He didn't have much of a sophomore season due to his injuries, but he's rebounded well in his third campaign. If Odom can't co-exist successfully with Kobe, perhaps the Lakers should consider trying to move him for a guy who scores less but is a more intimidating interior defender after all - like I said, Butler could be a great second option behind Kobe.

lol see what happens when he's not forced to be a spot up shooter? i think butler is a natural slaher who has a develping perimeter shot. if he can just stay healthy and used properly... this guy's stock was throught the roof when he left college
