lebron would have been a legitimate candidate if his team did a little better than they are.. i think after the little slump they had, he kinda fell off the radar

i think it comes down to shaq and nash with shaq winning by a slight margin

I agree with LeBron being in the list... but I think the award will ultimately go to Steve Nash. Pretty amazing, first point guard to potentially win it in a couple decades.

Steve Nash doesn't deserve it but I'd put my money on him winning as the media seems to love him

I'm not sure that Steve deserves it because of his defence, but we will get it.

Also, he's not even the best player on his team why should he deserve MVP?

....because he has the MVP hype, because people overatted the losses they had when he first went out, and because he's a PG, and many people want to see a PG win it, it happens.

Marion isn't really considered an MVP candidate.

I picked Shaq, but my rankings go like this:

1) Shaquille O'neal
2) Dirk Nowitzki
3) Steve Nash
4) Tim Duncan
5) Dwyane Wade
6) Allen Iverson
7) Gilbert Arenas
8) Lebron James
9) Ray Allen
10) Tracy McGrady and Amare Stoudemire

Exactly, that's why I think he's going to win it because of the hype. But that doesn't mean he "deserves" it.

Shaquille O'neal.. all he has is Wade and then the talent is average.

The Suns' Nash has Amare, Q, Marion and then their bench is probably better than the Heats...

So Shaq should beat Nash for it

the only other player on the suns roster that deserves mvp voting would be marion and i'm not even sure he's a better player than nash. if marion appeared on the vote he'd be 10-15th place.

As much as the Timberwolves have struggled this season Im going KG (yeah its a bit biased) still putting up monster numbers and winning games for the wolves. Though this year has been the closest for awhile so its tough so I'll stick with KG he is still kicking arse in effiency too. I mean Nash has clearly made the team better, than you have AI scoring big or you have Shaqs big improvement to the Heat's team and plenty more.

Yes Marion is a better player than Nash, and his impact on the team is huge and very underatted, but he's like a Camby, he impacts the team, but no one would seriously consider him MVP, though Marion has the numbers to make an argument.

Can't be MVP without being in the post season, just not happening...

marion and nash play different positions, so it's hard to compare. but you can't deny the fact that nash is playing the best in the nba for his position.

Why aren't anyone mentioning Amaré? He's put up great numbers, and IMO he's more important than Marion. He's really got something special with his combination of speed, size and power.

i don't think so. MVP, coach, and exectutive of the year are the only awards a person from the phoenix from the organization are in contention for. that still leaves ROY, MIP, DPOY, 6th man...

kidd's been injured, and nash has done more for the suns than kidd has for the nets this year.

I don't know about Nash doing more for the Suns, I mean the Nets started off horrible, and now are fighting for a playoff spot even though they only ave 2 stars, a mediocre guy in Kristic, and mostly scrubs.

I think each have done as much for their team considering the situations...
