Nice update. I know for sure, it would be crazy to see Mo T as an all-star, but he sure is playing like one.

Thanks for all the support folks, it's really hard to have nice additions to my dynasty since everyone is trying to be creative and lots of things have already been done.
I had a few basketball games this weekend so no more games played, but the next update will have 4 games (busy week in NBA Live too). For now, I have this small update because I had some time left.
Which do you like better, the ESPN boxscores with all Knicks' stats or with some opponents' stats too?

New Advertising Campaign For New Knicks
New York - The New York Knicks organisation has launched an ad campaign featuring all their new players. This way they want to get the city excited about the new and make the players feel at home.
The involved players are Jamal Crawford, Jerome Williams, Malik Rose and Maurice Taylor. Trevor Ariza and Jackie Butler had appeared in TV-commercials already, they're being marketed seperately from the others because they're both rookies, getting used to the game and the city.
New commercials will not be on TV. They're featured on the backpage of the NY Times and some smaller local newspapers. Only Malik Rose can also be seen on a banner on the MSG.

    Image
The Malik Rose banner, saying 'Got Malik?' instead of the usual 'Got Milk?'.

Week 4: Knicks Find Their Rhythm
After starting this week at .500, we can be content with our current 8-4 record. We're above .500 so this almost automatically means we are leading the Atlantic Division, which many believe is the weakest in the L. Maybe they're right, but we don't care, it's only in our advantage, right?
Worse news, Kurt Thomas was playing through injuries, Malik Rose was kept on the sidelines due to injuries and also Trevor Ariza has been missing a couple games due to something more serious (he's not expected to came back until next week).
Anyway this week Mo Taylor kept doing his thing, Sweetney had a career game and Crawford finally came out of his slump. In short, 4-0 baby!

    NYK at CLE
    Image Image
Left: Drew Gooden with the sick dunk. He was pretty dominant, but couldn't make up for the injured Big Z and LeBron's weak game.
Right: Maurice Taylor with the acrobatic move trying to avoid Ira Newble's hard foul. Newble had 25, but Taylor stayed in his MVP form even though he "only" had 19 points.
ESPN Boxscore - Knicks vs. Cavaliers

    NYK vs ATL
[Photo] Tim Thomas put on a dunking show not seen in the Garden since the Kenny 'Sky'Walker days.
[Photo] Josh Smith joined TT in the festivities, showing off his dunking skills, which probably got him such a high spot in last summer's draft.
ESPN Boxscore - Knicks vs. Hawks
    Image

    NYK at TOR
    Image Image
Left: Here you see Maurice Taylor taking a free throw in the 4th quarter. By then the game was decided, in which he played a major role. In fact, this FT was his 50th point of the night. Taylor was given a standing ovation after leaving the game with 5:00 left.
Right: The point guard matchup in this game was something special. Playground legends Starbury and Skip to my Lou were going against each other, maybe better known as Marbury and Alston.
ESPN Boxscore - Knicks at Raptors

    NYK vs TOR
    Image Image
Left: After blowing out the Raptors at the ACC two nights earlier, the Knicks had a lot more trouble at home. Morris Peterson had an impressive block on a Marbury lay-up, next possesion Stephon got past Peterson though and in the end his Knicks swept the back-to-back games.
Right: He did score 50 on the Raptors last game, but still Toronto didn't pay enough defensive attention to Mo-T. He got mismatches on more than one occasion and took advantage of them, dunking on (literally) Jalen Rose HARD.

That's all for this week. Please keeping checking back for more Knicks week recaps later, only on ESPN High Defenition. You can also ask questions to players, the coach or others. Next update there will be some more on Maurice Taylor's crazy season.

awesome... simply awesome... i luv the weekly idea. id like to see how the rest of the league is goin :)

Letter to the editor: With the emergence of outstanding play by Maurice Taylor, where will the future of the Knicks franchise develop (Sweetney and Ariza)? Us Knick fans are concerned about our future and feel that Trevor and Mike deserve more playing time, and more importantly, more touches!

Man, this is something special over here! Your presentation is bar none bro!

Is Starbury playing well for you or are you looking to get rid of some players?

OK, keep this up! (Y)

Great updates, can you please show Marbury's ppg and apg statistics because I want to see how well he is getting hsi teammates involved. I haven't seen him really have any REALLY big games so far so I'm guessing your doign a real good job with him at the PG spot.

Is it the fact that its so creative, or just the fact its simple? (Y) I like it because I don't have to read 6 paragraphs on one game.

Nice job once again, i like the feel of it. (Y) (Y) (Y)

Ceekay and I have talked about dynasties on MSN alot, and I'm just glad he took some "simple" ideas and made them magic. Dude, those ESPN scoreboards are hot!

Thanks for all the comments once again, I'm surprised about the amount of compliments I've gotten. Quite a task not to dissappoint you guys now.
About the cocobee influence: everybody knows he's like the godfather of picture-based dynasties. I use his as inspiration, but I try not to copy stuff, I know how much he hates that. Hope I see you on msn soon again btw.

    Special Update: Taylor Gets Cover

    Image
Maurice Taylor: MVP In The MSG
    from Slam 82, Dec 2004
If Carrol Dawson and Jeff van Gundy, Rockets' GM and coach, are going to quit their NBA jobs anytime soon, then we know the motive. Trading Maurice Taylor has to be the subject of the whole Rockets' organization's nightmares lately.

Taylor, who wasn't even the 3rd option on a not extremely talented Houston squad last season, has been of MVP caliber for his new team, the New York Knicks. Even though the season is only a month underway, he's clearly the number 1 pick for Most Improved Player and also a serious candidate for the biggest individual prize, the MVP award.

Averaging 27.6 points along with 12.6 boards on an amazing 63% from the field, Taylor admits he even surprised himself. "I was really happy with the trade, all my good friends were traded away from Houston already," he says "so I didn't really feel comfortable there anymore."

Everyone from the team told the press on media day that they were sure they were going to the playoffs this year, even rookie Trevor Ariza. "Training camp had a lot to do with that," explains Taylor. "I showed coach that the trade for me was what I needed, that I could get back to my form from when I was with the Clippers. Everybody in Houston just kept saying I would never be the same again and I had to accept a smaller role there, but I felt like I still had it in me."

It only took Taylor five games this season to prove that he's back - for real. That fifth game was against the Pacers, who don't have an awful frontcourt with Jermaine O'Neal in it. Despite that All Star's presence, Taylor went off for 45 points, improving his career high from 2001 by 11. In the games before that, he still had double-doubles, but the 45 points were just out of this world, really MVP caliber.
A couple games after that he even scored 50 and Maurice Taylor is already the success story of this season - no mater what happens in the remaining 70 games.

Add a healthy mix of veterans and young guns to this success and you have the 8-4 Knicks, who are currently on a 4-game winning streak. In ten years you might think about this trade and this year in the Knicks history. Trivia question then might be: who were the other players involved in the deal?
